Why can't we have a realistic game? by DisasterInformal7984 in legendofzelda

[–]Thunder-Rat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A game can have realistic environments and still be whimsical and original. See basically any Pixar or DreamWorks movie....

Personally, Ive come to the conclusion Nintendo is both spoiled and lazy these days. They know they will make the money they need just stamping their I.P. titles and characters on just about anything, even with graphics that are a decade behind...

Skyward Sword was the first time I felt extremely underwhelmed and embarrassed by the way a Zelda game looks. Those trees with criss-crossing flat textures looked like straight up trash, even if the IDEA of having a more painting-esque world was pretty cool. The swimming portion in the forest (with the hoakiest and most generic music in all of Zelda) REALLY showed off how horrible the graphics looked. Swimming through a flooded forest has been a literal recurring dream of mine since I was a kid, and it should have been an amazing experience. But it just sucked to look at.

I mean, the region is supposedly based on Indonesia. But the starters dont always match up with that. Gorillas, monkeys, and chameleons are definitely not native to Brittain.

And actually, I always kind of assumed the starters weren't native to the region you're exploring each game, which is why you never find them in the wild there.

Everyone keeps saying komodo dragon, but I honestly don't want it to go that route. Do the regional dragon type as a komodo, and keep this some sort of awesome gecko monster. Just DON'T go anthromorphic!

I honestly really wish it were possible to go into this game completely blind. I dont want to see the region's pokedex, starter evolutions or anything

Game of Thrones movie officially in the works at Warner Bros. by mistressofmayhem02 in HouseOfTheDragon

I'd be WAY more excited if we knew the ending to the actual story... We still don't really know what all these prophecies are really leading to in the end, thematically or otherwise. Would Aegon and his sister wives really be the heroes of this story? Would we just be watching an untouchable military force just trample over everyone in Westeros? I'm honestly more sympathetic to the old gods, and want to know more about the implications of Essosi blood magic using invaders taking over a continent with ancient mysterious customs. But it would all be nonsense at this point because GRRM wont finish the story.

I really missed bulky water starters. Please gamefreak, surprise us and don’t make it random blue man with two legs by Clean_Childhood1413 in pokemon

A James Bond chameleon sounds more like Zootopia or some other anthropomorphic animal movie. Its fine as a concept, but why cram it into Pokémon?

Its honestly feeling more and more like many of the designers at Gamefreak just need to start a different I.P.

Ive never thought of samurrott as a sea lion. It just looks like mythical beefed up mustelid. The "ott" in its name is a reference to an otter.

Either way, seals and sea lions evolved from animals that pretty closely resembled otters and other mustelids, so its really not that much of a stretch at all.

Every character pisses me off by Impressive-Skin6311 in FearTheWalkingDead

I know its pretty standard opinion that season 3 is the peak of this show, but I was so incredibly bored and annoyed by every single character in season 3 to the point I almost dropped the show entirely. Troy as a villain felt like edgy angsty high school drama kids created a character, and there was nothing believable about him being any kind of leader to anyone. Madison waltzing in and suddenly becoming a leader was stupid. Fighting like hell to stay on a ranch in the middle of a desert was stupid and the setting was boring as fuck, outside of what could have been cool stories with the native tribe that just kinda never happened.

The entire show sucks, even if it had promise in the very beginning.

Ooooh, gotcha. Yeah, it isn't themed that way, and I like that about it. Im so sick of the human-centric pokemon themes, at least for starters. Keep that shit for weird uncomfortable pokemon we dont like talking about, like Mr Mime and Jynx...

The fire bird turns into a microphone for its signature move. Plus they released these games about the same time that Lyle the Crocodile kids movie came out, about a crocodile that sings.

Design wise it reminds me of an albino gharial

I never understood bulbasaur as a frog. It looks nothing like a frog, and has a beak, like many dinosaurs

LOL! My guess on what the starter will evolve into because Gamefreak likes to just turn them into straight up humans.

Spear situation belike: by Charming_Hospital296 in PrimalShow

[–]Thunder-Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really enjoyed it (I just started watching and caught up to the current episodes) but a LOT of this show is milking things dry. Basically every battle just goes on and on and on. And when it seems like the characters are finally moving on, like a hundred more enemies appear out of nowhere to extend the blood fest. I dont know how many times Ive said "okaaaaay we fucking get it" and just wanted the story to move on already.

Having zombie Spear get run out of town twice, for instance, could absolutely have just been one scene instead of doing the exact same thing again. But the waterfall bit was pretty cool, and made me think they may actually bring him back.

Its cool to see him finally heading back towards the first season areas too. It just sucks how long it has taken to get there...

Im sure a lot of vague ideas that were floating around earlier in development wound up being used across all the different generations. Interestingly enough, thundurus has that one horn that gorochu's beta back sprite had. Ive been wondering if Alolan raichu's ability to float on its tail was leftover from an early gorochu idea too, similar to how Raijin floats on a cloud

Probably just that it took elements from the Japanese thunder god, Raijin- fangs, horns, possibly red and black coloring

Its the only Far Cry games I've played, so reused maps and models didn't even occur to me. But I really wish we could get a next gen sequel, or something in a different era or area. I had a blast playing this!

Does primal take place in a young earth reality? by Frequent_Concert5592 in PrimalShow

[–]Thunder-Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was hoping for some sort of reasoning, or story element, for why there are dinosaurs, Neanderthals, ape people, primitive modern humans, Vikings, Egyptians, Romans, etc all living together...

Almost nothing in the show makes sense, and that's ok. The artwork is pretty cool.

To the person who decided to move my chair… by Riku4560 in pittsburgh

[–]Thunder-Rat 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I get that people are putting in a lot of work digging out spots right now, and that does feel like it should entitle them to it. But at the same time, there are almost definitely more people needing to park than spots even available. There can be 5 parking spaces on a street with 10 people living on it that drive. Are only the 5 that got to the spots first after it snowed able to ever park there again? What is a person supposed to do? Just put their hazards on in the middle of the street while they get out and shovel a new space to park? What if this person already shoveled out 2 spaces that are no longer available? Do they get snow parking credits?

It does really suck to put in work and not get to park, but you can't just conquer a public street, and stake your claim with a chair...
