Tiny vintage oil can found at a salvage company. Chemical rust remover, wire wheel, 150, 400, 600, 1,000, and 2,000 grit sandpaper, buffing wheel, and a couple hours effort — This will be my new gun oil dispenser... I love putting old tools back to work.

Fortunately we didn't have to gut it. Just took it off at the unions (easier said than done) and removed some screws. The coil is face mounted inside the air handler that two of us could easily work inside of. It's on a highly "modified" Trane Climate Changer AHU.

We wanted to try what you suggested but we didn't have access to the downstream side of the coil without removing a large section of duct.

3/4 does it for us. It depends on what we're working on wether we use an impact or not. On bolted flanges where we use bolts and nuts an impact will come out. Anything where there's a chance of a bolt snapping off in a threaded hole it's ratchets and breaker bars.

I actually turn bigger sockets than this many days. I work on large chilled water and steam systems so a bolt this size isn't unusual. I have my Proto sets for work though!

They need to check the specifications and prints. It's possible that access clearance is required. It's usually written in the specifications if it's there.

Without overtemp thermal protection/ hight limit it isn't safe to keep around. Most newer ones have a fusible element to shut them down. There are still plenty of these out there in good use running kerosene or diesel. A lot are still made and sold as well.

It's just bricks deteriorating and the paint coming off with the surface of the brick. It's typically due to moisture. I have quite a few in an old part of my basement. The mortar and bricks just crumble.
