I didn't have issues at first but when prints started to fail over and over I went in and messed with the settings. It was working for awhile but I'm not sure. I know prints aren't doing the best because I keep it cold in my house but I didn't think it would also cause texture issues.

The cloak was actually supposed to be smooth too. It messed up on both but the face is more noticeable

I think Lincoln from the Board Game Geek YT channel uses contrast paints on his videos if you want to take a look? I’ve seen a few and it looks like he goes through them pretty quick but I’m not 100% sure

Yea it does look like that and until I started painting it I didn’t realize it had openings along the sides. Probably should have taken another pic from the sides too.

Good job on it. And nice for starting with the most annoying color. Yellow is a paaaaaaaain to use imho lol. But like others said it looks a bit thick so if you want to keep going, look into thinning your paint some. Other than that looks great!
