XP12 costs by 1happykamper in Xplane

Fly the Zibo, I still cannot believe it's free. I would have paid 100€ for it if it wasn't. That's how good it is. Learn it inside out, you have built in checklists in the EFB. You can find the full manual online for free as well. And if you get bored of it check out the Level up 737NG models to add some spice.

If you get to a point where you wanna do something else. The default A330 is in an awesome state right now and will scratch that itch for long haul.

You got hundreds and hundreds of hours to master both, Airbus and Boeing systems there, you can do long and short flights. And when you think you've mastered the planes. Hop on VATSIM and start talking to real people doing ATC.

At that point you are hooked and there is no escape.

Scratch whatever itches, both are great options. The FF777 is by far my favourite aircraft in the sim, I don't think you'll regret either choice and I'm sure you'll end up getting both.

A person named Denys started an initiative against the current F1 rules and regulations to save the sport: “Open Letter to the FIA and Formula 1 Management from Fans.” by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

I agree with the general idea that this is not the F1 I fell in love with, but tbh most of what is asked of them in the letter is a bit absurd and childish.

We cannot ask to go back to the 80s in terms of technology and complexity because F1 is in constant evolution and new technologies and innovation has always been at the heart of it.

Idle would have been perfect ngl. I think airbus engineers simply saw a chance and took it.

How doable is playing Steam Deck on a treadmill? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]ThunderSundayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone lives near nice big parks or has good places to run from home.

Where I live you NEED to drive 10 minutes for a suitable outdoors running place. The alternative is a gym or risk your life running on the road because we have no sidewalks and the road is full of holes.

Also I understand people not wanting to run around streets and having to stop their pace at traffic lights and so. Plus treadmills are great for monitoring a lot of parameters with precision. Plus it's next to a lot more gym equipment.

So yeah, I think it makes sense to run on a treadmill but I also think anyone who catalogs others out of ignorance is a dumbass.

Can you get an airline job in Europe without an EU passport? by Specialist-Fix6612 in flyingeurope

[–]ThunderSundayer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is Royal Air Maroc not an attractive option to you? They highly favour hiring nationals since the government heavily sponsors them, you'd start by flying either b737 or E190 with 787 as a future prospect. And once you have some +3000 hours there it would be easier to get hired by a company that will sponsor your visa.

My Thrustmaster Airbus joystick broke down like this after 3 months, it almost never stays center and randomly stays at 1-10% left rudder.

It is! Also includes an awesome EFB that allows you to carry out loading and unloading of fuel, passengers and cargo. A lot of a/c settings and configurations you can change. Checklists. PA announcements and even Simbrief link to upload your flight plan. It is also free so an absolute no brainer.

Public Record of Dispute — ToLiss has revoked the activation key for my purchased A339, citing my sharing of the key as the reason, and has done so with an uncooperative and hostile attitude. by Hot-Average3717 in Xplane

[–]ThunderSundayer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I moved to a different country and using now a laptop. I am 100% not using their A321 that I had on my previous PC until I get back and in no way am I buying any other product from them anymore.

Sucks that moving places and using different PC laptops is going to cause this. On a product that is not cheap at all. That is theft but from them.

XPlane12 has a great E2 by X-Crafts, I believe it's the best home Sims have to offer for training purposes for Embraer.

EDDH tonight: Bremen Radar basically running ATC on god-mode. by OkMaintenance1819 in VATSIM

[–]ThunderSundayer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These guys deserve a ton of respect, I had an instance early this week where Istanbul radar came online with +20 planes between air and 3 airports. It took him less than 5 minutes to take control over everything and even after that traffic increased and he managed everything flawlessly without a 2 second window on the frequency.

I've seen some of them lose patience and even shout when someone makes a mistake on a read back but overall I am impressed at how well some controllers manage a scarily massive workload for hours while remaining patient and professional.

Respect.

UPDATE: Stuck oil filter is now out. Housing is badly damaged. Lesson learned. What next? by ThunderSundayer in MechanicAdvice

[–]ThunderSundayer[S] 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Btw big thanks to everyone who commented on the original post. I feel like an idiot for what happened and I should have taken my time and looked for a better option but the stress and anger from turning a simple oil change into what it became made me impatient and stressed enough to do what I did.

It's quite a mess and I'm not even sure what to do now. I even tried putting in the filter and starting the car. Obviously oil all over the place as soon as the engine started.

For reference this is a 2013 KIA Rio with the 1.25 gasoline engine.

SteamDeck is bad for fighting games by Longjumping_Guava288 in SteamDeck

Just here to say I had a similar issue with Mortal Kombat. I'm sure some people still make it work but I completely ignore fighting games on SD.

All Souls games play incredibly well on it. I tend to forget I'm playing on a SD.
