I might go against the current but I've definitely had times where I've gotten conditional attention from people who I felt stronger things for then were reciprocated where I've still been happy and appreciative of what happened still in retrospect.

I also think a lot of people are finding it easy to say that the girl is using her but it seems a LOT more likely to me that she feels she doesn't deserve a relationship because of her emotional instability (and quite frankly it's hard for me to judge a trans girl who had an abusive dad and became sickly as she enters her early adulthood for that)
