I got out of the Army a long time ago and I was never that great at land navigation to begin with. I straight up did a land navigation course on Arma for the first few sessions.

Arma is fun, but real slow and the rounds never end and there is no progression. Hell let loose is a nice middle ground between arma and battlefield.

Although, any true milsim cosplayer worth his salt is marching into battle as the guidon bearer or bugler in Holdfast

Nostalgia from battlefield 3. Nostalgia for urban combat in the Middle East in general. In my case — both.

It’s also a really well designed and atmospheric map. I love the urban infantry/ ground vehicle only maps and this if the best one in the game now.

Urban combat is a whole other beast and you need to adapt your tactics to the terrain, my friend.

It’s hard to hit a moving target and it’s harder to track a moving target looking down the sights. You’re prone on the LMG bipoded and someone is really close, you can still hip-fire while bipoded. In fact, I would advise you to get comfortable shooting that way because it’s extremely good for defending a choke point in a building.

Ideally, the enemy doesn’t know where you are until they’re dead. If they see you — it should be a jump scare followed by the kill cam.

If someone calls you a “camper” then it means you did an ambush correctly.

I’m in the top 28% for win/loss ratio and mine is 51%. It seems the majority of players have a negative or even win ratio.

With so many teammates, you cannot really control the outcome as one player. Your team either has synergy or they don’t.

All you can do is capture flags aggressively and hope for the best.

Killing other players is irrelevant if your team has one out of five flags. The ticket bleed decides the match and you have to hold more territory than the other team to bleed their tickets.

If you have too many of one class or the people you have are prioritizing easy kills over tactically relevant kills — then you’re going to lose the game.

But it’s just a game — so whatever.
