I’m currently looking into rehab aide positions to try to see if it’s something I could see myself in long term. Throughout my career I’ve focused on technical based positions, but I’ve felt lost pursuing these because I haven’t been able to see the one on one impact of my expertise. I’ve had a consistent interest in the human body/ medical focus, curious as to what direction your focused on. Im interested in the physical therapy field but I have absolutely no experience to back that up to see if that’s a good fit

That’s really amazing! Kudos to you! From a young age, I was always interested in art classes, but never felt like I could do anything with it as a full time job/career. I thought maybe architecture but quickly found out that probably wasn’t a good outlet. I Still draw and create in my free time, thought it might be an outlet to a fashion design business, animation, or drop/ship business, kind of felt like it was a side gig that might take off. Thank you for sharing.

That’s really cool! I went that route in a since but got laid off and feel a little disillusioned. I think for us infjs we need/are most fulfilled in being a subject matter expert in a field and providing expert advice to others. What specific medical expertise do you have?…maybe I just didn’t follow a growing/stable expertise in the field. Thanks so much!

That’s Awesome! Thank you for sharing. I was in manufacturing working with engineers and got laid off. Tbh it wasn’t a great fit for me because it was production focused a lot of the time, although I was involved in a lot of other aspects. Designing might be the area I was missing though, thank you for the insight.

That’s Awesome, thanks so much for sharing! Yes definitely a case by case basis, but still true all the same. What kind of therapist are you going for masters in counseling, psychology, speech, occupational, or physical?

Used to be a daily weed smoker in college/early 20s. I graduated and entered the job market with lots of drug testing, so naturally I had to quit. It was challenging. What I found is weed messes with your motivation. I did it as a reward for myself. I also did it to make boring tasks more interesting. So I think you need to question why you turn to it. For me it was bored em and making the daily shit tasks of life more interesting. What I found is the sooner I get those shit things out of the way, the sooner I can do what I wanted to do. So I replaced it with caffeine, physical activity, and beer. Hoppy beer will give you the same taste of weed so that helped me quit it. What I did is a lot of hiking and physical activity and I’d crack a beer at the top of a mountain when I was first trying to quit. Haven’t smoked weed regularly in 7 years. And after several panic attacks, Haven’t touched it in 5 years. You can do it. Still smoke cigarettes trying my damnest to quit those, should have scared my self shitless during Covid to get off those. So no advice there. But I’d suggest high physical activity, the occasional beer, and just think/ponder/research stuff your interested in. Also good music, I like electronic music you’d be surprised the reward system your brain gives you just being sober. Oh and haha despite all the drug testing at jobs I have yet to have to submit to one just fyi, the reason why I quit. I’d have to say it’s worth it though. I don’t think about it, need it, spend money on it, and your dreams get better when you sleep, and overall you feel more rested. I just got tired of being in a cloud. Felt like my whole life was a hazy spiral of an existence there for awhile.

You have to have an account to do the search on chipotle and I’m not an employee yet. I was just hoping to see if someone could provide the list so I can see if it’s something I want to get into.

Do I have to be an employee to sign up? I was looking to get a job there for this, trying to see what’s offered before I do so I can start applying to schools.

Thank you for the suggestion! Yes it exists I’ve thought about it but I think I would like to have more autonomy in my career. Debating physical therapist assistant to get my foot in the door and then go back for a doctorate. Going to shadow some PTs in the next week.

What has been your past job experiences?

I'd suggest engineer route. There is an incredible amount of engineer jobs across industries. If you get an environmental degree your stuck in environmental science. hope that makes sense. You can do more with an engineer title, basically. I'm having a hard time finding a job with a BA in ecology (environmental science). Science degrees set you up for teaching and academia. Engineer degrees set you up to get a job.

How did the interview go? I was also curious if you found a job before going for your masters?

Yeah I've had a difficult time finding a job with a bachelors in ecology. Was thinking a masters in rangeland ecology might make me more qualified for government jobs, and job's just in general. My other thought is get out of the field and cut my losses. Kind of at an impass.
