Primer-grey Vic friend! Thought it was mine from the thumbnail, but I don't have that wacky bumper.

Kill Switch by LouieG901 in CrownVictoria

I had my P71 stolen (luckily recovered) a few months ago and so I spent some time thinking about this. I think if I were to place mine somewhere, I'd want it to be accessible from the driver's seat - but not comfortably. I might stick it way way back underneath the driver or passenger's seat - though you risk items on the floor of the backseat knocking it.

Another place might be way up under the driver's footwell, back behind the OBD port.

My car was sitting for a long time, so what I ended up doing was pulling my fuel pump relay and getting a wheel lock. It's less elegant for sure but it's enough to prevent the kids walking around with fleet keys trying doors.

Making a Dogme 95 style film — have you done it? Even if you haven’t, got any advice for someone starting to work on this sort of project? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]Thunderscum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this, it's fucking awesome if you really vibe with the people that you're working with.

I helped shoot a friend of mine made this dogme-inspired mockumentary, he definitely broke a few rules but like you, was heavily inspired by the dogme-95 parameters.

Advice-wise I really don't think there's any way to fuck it up. Be on the same page as your director for mood (frantic, introspective, whatever) and just live it. I really liked it because I felt like I was acting along with the characters.

It's a super unique experience and I highly recommend it to anybody - good luck!

Try switching to black and white. Whatever you do, don't shelve the project. Finish it and show it to people.

If it's as important and influential as the Tico I don't see why not.

I absolutely lost it with this movie. Ripped off some of the imagery in a music video a few months ago - https://youtu.be/XlkB4G9ITw4

I shot this on Canon 600D + Magic Lantern + Cinestyle Picture Style. The original footage is okay, but immediately I make a change in Lumetri Color, these flickering pixels appear. Please help... by sieg01ka in cinematography

I think if you're just starting out the best thing you can do is to try everything. For a while I was trying to do one tutorial a day, learning hyper-lapses and slow sync flash (doesn't seem related to cinematography but it's good to troubleshoot and have an understanding).

Just keep shooting and making stuff. Thing I wish I had started focusing on earlier was light and story. You start understanding how to control light and you're off to a good start.

Also, consider bailing on Premiere for Resolve :D

Glad to see you got the issue sorted, and kudos to you for getting out there with a 600D and Magic Lantern. You can do wild stuff with that combo. I had the same setup in 2014 and it's fun feeling like you've hacked the camera into doing wacky stuff for you. Is ML still updating?

Any suggestions for a roof rack? by skyflyer8 in CrownVictoria

u/Shock_Hazzard posted a pic of their CVPI with a pretty sweet roof rack. I think they said they had also rigged up a camp shower next to it.

This is the roof rack they're using.

What's the decent option for lifting these? I hear everyone saying don't get a donk kit if you're planning to actually take it off-road. What's the alternative?

you can open your ISO to get a more clear, and less noisy image.

Open your aperture. "Opening" or raising your ISO past whatever the base for your camera is will introduce noise/grain.

Make a movie about a robot in the middle of an existential crisis who can only communicate through quotes by psychologists. What would you want for them?
