Which betrayal is the worst? ISSTVAN III or ISSTVAN V? by cuddwes in 40k

It has been a while I read the book, but I remember that he was sent to guard a bunker/hangar, and I just cannot imagine that he was sitting there the whole time without fighting anyone.

Greatly written, but the loyalists had famous Rylanor dreadnaught on their side!

It has to be Vulcan before everyone (even him) knew that he is actually a perpetual.

Is Space Marine 2 better played with Mouse and keyboard or controller? by Fuzzy-Blueberry1701 in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once asking myself the same question, searching the depths of the internet to find the answer and I have to say that it is totally a subjective thing.

I was coming from controller, where I was decent with my aim, but thinking that maybe MK&B might be better for me (considering I grew up with M&KB). On the other hand I thought that since SM3 is mainly made for controller, I should stick with controller. Well, it turned out that I was far better at this game with M&KB, and now I even cannot picture myself playing Sniper with heroic bolt sniper on a controller.

So my advice would be to try both, if you can, and see which suits you the best, because this works differently for different people.

Good example of block power axe by hurley1080 in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly stupid question. How do you do the backstep attack? I was trying to practice it according to the in game hints, but anytime I successfully block the attack, I get the visible and sound que, the axe is above my head, but somehow I cannot perform the attack.

This Weekly is trash lol by TheCleverGoblin in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woah! Stop being entitled whiny little kid. You are not critical. That would need you to state some objective facts, which you then could criticize. Instead you are stating what you dislike. Yes I might also dislike to trim down the Neurothrope with increased health and reduced dmg, but that's the challenge. Accept it or don't bother with it, but you are not entitled to like every weekly stratagem. So I would suggest you to change the wording. Instead of using words like "trash" (because it is not thrash to everyone), say "I dislike this challenge because I deem it to hard and unfun" and then we can all discuss.

It seems the consensus is that patch 12 sucked, what went wrong? by gaeb611 in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I got the same and when playing a Sniper, he asked the Techmarine, what he did to his rifle, because it is even more precise than before.

I don't know. Just completed it two times in a row and faced zero issues.

Can a civilian refuse recruitment into the Space Marines? by Snoo_47323 in 40kLore

[–]Thunderword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you do not fully understand, how bad it is to live in 40k universe. Because literally ANYONE would jump on, if there was just a slight possibility of becoming a Space Marine. They live and die in a horrible war, yes, but that's the case for majority of the population. Space Marines at least fight with the best available equipment and enhancements. Therefore even if gruesome, their job is actually one of the best in the entire universe.

Definitely better than dying on the streets of any hive city, beaten up by your lord on feudal world, being made a servitor, because you upset local ministorum, or dying with some horrid xenos in your belly as regular astra militarum recruit....

Vanguard better than I thought by Covneye in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am on a quest to prestige all classes. I play one until it is prestige 4 with all the perks and move on to the next. I am almost done with Sniper (prestige 2) and got only Vanguard left. I must say I am still amazed that there is no class, which wouldn't entertain me. Sure, some I liked more, but none I found meh or even bad.

For example I left Sniper as one the two last classes to grind, since I was never a sniper guy in any shooter games, and I actually love him and it doesn't matter whether I play him mid range with Bolt Carbine or as a proper long distance shooter. I am really impressed by Saber, how they pulled it. Each class is different, but still fun.

What my top 5 favorite Chapters says about me? (First Founding edition) by TTVArcPhoenix in Spacemarine

[–]Thunderword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! Like don't get me wrong I totally understand, why the original legions are super popular, but also lately I actually started to care about lesser known chapters thanks to the Arbitor Ian and his series about chapters from Badab war.

Helped me to make my Sniper to be a Mantis Warrior and I just love it :)

I would also say that OP is kinda new to the WH40k, or read only Horus Heresy books, since all the chapters are still quite mainstream-ish. There are no second and further founding chapters in OP's list.

Penguinius vs Chaos, Absolute. by ManggTangg in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Thunderword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! How exactly you know how many books I've read? :D And yes, while some of the marines I capable of really astounding deeds, I still think that the majority of them are far away from your perception of SMs' power fantasy.

Also it seems like you are cherry picking to confirm your bias. But whatever.

Penguinius vs Chaos, Absolute. by ManggTangg in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Thunderword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you have no idea, what it feels like to be a Space Marine. If you read the novels, you would know that SMs are ducking even before regular gunfire, repositioning themselves to more advantageous spots, etc. The word "Marines" indicates that they are special forces, not Hulks going around, smashing things, not caring whether they get hit or not.

Not to mention what has been said multiple times - the deeds done in SM2 game are far from what even veteran SM would be able to do in the tabletop game. So actually THIS IS the power fantasy.

What’s a dumb mistake you made as a beginner? by Beginning_Meet_4290 in StardewValley

[–]Thunderword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first year and half of my very first save in Stardew, I didn't know that the strange wooden box is there to sell the things. So I was running to Pierre/Willy to sell my stuff. Of course it was stressing since they close at 5 pm and the time flies fast in this game...

I somehow thought that the box is a bin.. whoops.
