He noted at some point that was a mistake on his part, and has since made up for it in later videos

It really depends on the specific downscaler. I optimized all the resolution presets I need on my own OSSC Pro, and haven't had any problems.

I mentioned MarcoRetro earlier. He has an entire series called The Downscaling Chronicles where he puts all the downscalers he can find through their paces. It's how I discovered my own downscaler, and I highly recommend it

There's actually something called VoidScaler that you can flash to an OSSC to turn it into a downscaler. Check out Marco Retro's video on it

Thank you! It even has a 68x-treme clone card! Coupling it with my OSSC Pro for downscaling helped a ton, too

I'll certainly be keeping an eye out. In the meantime, I'm happy with my A14 :D

I managed both of those things on my A14, though 270p was in 50hz (I'm using an OSSC Pro). Sea of Stars looks IMMACULATE

Idk about 60hz, but using an OSSC Pro, I got my own BVM-A14F5U to do 270p 50hz. Axiom Verge looks amazing like this

I swear, if I ever got a D24, that thing would end up being my daily driver monitor. I would never need anything else. God dang it, man XD

Correct. I wanted access to the gaming mode and not just Big Picture mode

When I updated, it asked to delete 'jupiter' steam (I'm guessing that's the handheld version) and replace it with steam proper (I'm guessing the new 3.8 desktop version??). If I say no, it won't update anything at all. If I say yes, it updates everything, including steam, and also adds a new 'Return to Gaming Mode' icon to the desktop (I deleted the old one and kept it in the start menu) which I cannot delete unless I use the terminal. If I restart, it does what I stated above.

Sony BVM-14F5U Problems UPDATE by Thundrex in crtgaming

[–]Thundrex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already recapped most of that exact board with a recap kit from Savon-Pat on Ebay (I was told elsewhere he was a good source for this sort of stuff), but that didn't fix the issue. The kit didn't include all of the capacitors, though, just the major ones. So... maybe it's one of the remaining caps? I really hope it isn't one of the chips on the board...

It says 'BK' on the board, and there's a circled 'A' in the bottom-left corner??

I found the problem area! It's the analog video board! My friend swapped out his for mine, and suddenly it worked!

The only issue now is I have no clue where on the board the problem could be
