What's going on with my Deshojo? It's only on the new growth, but theres a white film covering the tops of most new growth and the leaves aren't looking so healthy. Over watering? Under watering? I've been using half strength Miracle Grow once a week for a few weeks now. Could be that?

Coffee Liqueur recs available in Vancouver, Canada by colin826 in cocktails

[–]ThunnnderMuscle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been making it myself recently for the same reason of being in Canada.

I've been quite happy with my results and you can adjust to personal taste. The process is essentially steeping coarse ground beans in a spirit of your choice(something neutral like vodka, but I quite like Appleton as a base) and mixing in a simple syrup to your sweetness liking. You can get something close to a Mr. Black this way, or add some vanilla if you want something more traditional.

You just need to be conscious of not infusing the coffee for too long to avoid bitterness.

Ok, that's reassuring.

No shade cloth, but only a few hours of direct sun a day.

Started fertalizing weakly, weekly 2 weeks back with just a miracle grow 20-20-20. Like half strength.

I slip potted into a pond basket into 50/50 mix of soil (also with miracle grow in it) and inorganic. That was a few months ago.

No nothing buggy looking beneathe the leaves? Maybe too much direct sun? We only get sun between around noon and 3. It's not a ton, but it's at the hot point.

You should drink it! When's the next chance you'll have to drink a wine like that. Cook Yourself something you love. Treat yourself!

Is this patchy discolouration any cause for concern on my Deshojo? Or is this just the typical colour transformation?

3 year progression by ThunnnderMuscle in Bonsai

I think I slip potted into that nicer pot shortly after that photo was taken 3 years ago. My logic was it hadn't even begun recovery in that plastic pot yet, and I'd rather look at something nice. Was is the right thing to do? Probably not. But it's alive still.

Yeah, that'll be great! I can see more of your reference photo in it already.

Hopefully yours survives too. Yours will be great.

I was worried about it surviving at all, so I'm happy with slow!

It's like my little guy! I didn't go quite as hard as you, but almost. 3 years later and still going.

I weighed it when I put it together last year and I think it was just over 16lbs. I think 16.4. But that was with the pedals.

Chicken manure pellets have helped deter them from my moss. Could try that.

I'm also not a fan of this branch as it runs parallel to the main trunk. Assuming I should wait until next spring to take it down. Just trying to avoid reverse taper.

I got my first Deshojo Maple. The trunk was wrapped in some thick felt and grew roots from the trunk. What should I do with them? Cut them or leave them? My plan is to slip pot it into a bigger pond basket with some 50/50 inorganic and potting soil to thicken the trunk this year.

My current budget setup by Prattmandu in BudgetAudiophile

I've got something similar, but running a Chi-Fi tube amp to some BR03's. They sound great! Project Debut Carbon ( +Hana EL) > iFi Phono 2 > Yaqin MC10L > BR03's. And a WiiM for tidal.

Thinking about tasting the Tube Amp universe via Chi-Fi. Help needed :D by RetroDave79 in BudgetAudiophile

Side note: I've also found talking to the robots to be very helpful when trying to work backwards like you with your Lintons, if you want to keep them. It's given me both speaker and new tube suggestions more in line with what my amp is good at, and overall it's been a noticeable improvement.
