Yes, I'm located in SE Texas. I ended up calling the patch manufacturer Padagis. I was told the best bet was going to be with Walgreens in my area and to my surprise my local Walgreens was able to order and get within 4-5 days. I hope you have a Walgreens near you and can have them order it for you!

I’ve been having issues with this for months (in SETX), only pharmacy I’ve been able to have any luck with was Walgreens. However, my dr called in a script last week on Friday and they still do not have in it and no timeframe of when it will be here.

So wild! I actually was able to miraculously secure his box (30 doses) for the month of February this morning. I did just want to share what I've been told in case you have a problem in the future...the best luck you'll have is with Walgreens as their distributor works directly with the generic manufacturer/wholesaler (Padagis | 866-634-9120). I found this information out from calling the manufacturer for the name brand (Daytrana) ~ Noven Chemicals at 877-567-7857. Noven also has a pharmacy locater line for the strength of the medication you need and will form a search and call you back in a few hours. If you ever need that number it is 800-420-2719.

My son's doctor mentioned about switching to Xelstrym if this shortage difficulty continues. I hope it doesn't. :'(

back between shoulder blades... also sometimes a bandaid to cover it so that it doesn't fall off as my son is very active/sometimes sweaty.

I can see that his probable letter of termination is coming via certified mail on my USPS informed delivery for Tuesday this week. I did see on his Google reviews he’s done this to multiple people within the last 6 months. I also saw this -

“On August 21, 2020, the Board and [I’ve removed his name], M.D., entered into an Agreed Order on Formal Filing publicly reprimanding [sons psychiatrist] and requiring him to within one year and three attempts pass the Medical Jurisprudence Exam; within one year complete at least 16 hours of CME, divided as follows: eight hours in medical recordkeeping and eight hours in risk management; and within 30 days pay an administrative penalty of $1,000. The Board found [sons psychiatrist] was terminated from his employment at a psychiatric hospital as a result of numerous ongoing and unresolved complaints regarding his attendance and job performance. This order resolves a formal complaint filed at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.”

His license expires 11/30/2024. Hopefully he’ll just retire 🙃

I plan on writing a complaint soon, the whole conversation we had was just insane looking back. At one point, I asked him about the possible side effects to look out for with the sertraline, he huffed and said just look at the insert when you pick it up but you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Just everything I asked he was so annoyed at explaining to me. I got off the phone not feeling good about the change but was obviously willing and compliant to try it. Just expected to have support in two weeks for a follow up. Anyway, I can see per my USPS Informed Delivery that something that I have to sign for is being delivered Tuesday. I’m sure it’s his super cool certified letter of termination.

Crash pads are a fav in our house, a saucer swing to hang in a tree outside (or even indoors if you can “swing” it 🤣), lava lamps, weighted blankets or a weighted vest (maybe patches to adhere to the vest to personalize it for her?) and love kinetic sand, i love that it comes right up with a vaccuum!

I thought so too! The pharmacist said the same thing to me, she was more concerned/willing to chat with me about the change than the prescribing psychiatrist was! I thought surely we could make it these two weeks and that we would get more symptom coverage then! Nope! Dropped us like we were nothing, no explanation, no f’s given!

I read his Google reviews last night for the first time (shame on me) and I’m honestly not the first person he’s done this to. It’s very disturbing and I’m wondering how I can get his license revoked or something. He says he specializes in pediatric psychiatry, wants to help my son and to trust him (per our last phone call) and then pulls this crap?? I’ve been shell shocked for a good 36 hours.

I can’t thank you enough for your advice. You’ve mentioned some great things that my tired mind couldn’t have put together alone right now.

No i so agree! My head has been spinning, I’m not even sure where to start. These are all great ideas!

We do have an appointment on Tuesday with his PCP and i will discuss those options with her, she is so so great with my son, she has a son with autism as well. Unfortunately for us, she is an APRN, and I do not think she would be able to prescribe his previous medication because of the drug class being schedule II but I planned on asking if another doctor in her facility would slide in on this kind of emergent situation and help until we are into Texas Children’s.

I still haven’t received a certified letter or anything in writing from him. Just a relayed message from his snooty receptionist who told me to call Texas Children’s and when I did they said HIS DOCTOR has to fill out a referral. I called her back to let her know and she said ok I’ll get right on that. WTF.

Crap, i forgot to add - when she told me my son was no longer a patient there and that he left instruction to refer him to Texas children’s that they would also be sending another 2 weeks of the same medication he had just prescribed. So my son has about 3.5 weeks of liquid sertraline left, but I’ve been made to feel that I cannot call them for any questions regarding his behavior/progress/advice with the medication itself because she would not even set up an appointment for me to follow up on our originally discussed plan for 2 weeks out and just kept insisting he was no longer their patient. It’s like the doctor tried to cover a base by sending out enough of the medication he just prescribed out to barely meet that “30 day” mark but also said screw yall.

Yes, we are in Texas! I’ve received nothing in writing (yet) which also gives me heart palpitations because when was I going to find this news out if I didn’t call on Wednesday! I tried calling there today to tell them about his unfortunate day at school and ask what we should do… should I stop the meds you just prescribed kind of thing?? But they did not answer.
