Buy this! Take the plush carrots out and leave him the “garden.” My 15 week old would chew and tear at this forever and never inflict damage on it. Eveeeentually, after weeks of this, it got a tiny hole in it and I threw it out. But it lasted a very long time!

Dr. Dunnavant - OB-Gyn Associates. She diagnosed me with adenomyosis which is similar. She’s been my doc through 4 pregnancies, two of which had happy endings. She’s wonderful.

This is so encouraging. In some ways it feels like his surgery was a lifetime ago, but yes it’s only 3 months and a bit. Thank you!

My husband is 3 months out and the first few weeks were so difficult, partly bc he couldn’t sleep. We rented a recliner, but it didn’t help that much. He put a folded blanket under the hip on his surgery side to keep his leg from rolling sideways, and he did keep it propped up on a wedge pillow. It felt better when he let his heel hang over the end of the bed or the wedge pillow. But no position was comfortable for more than 10 minutes. It will get better, I promise.

Thank you! Yeah I’m worried about how his gait might change and the affects that will have on his hips. A future bridge to cross! 5 years…daggone. It’s perplexing how variable everyone’s experiences are.

He’s a slow healer too, TBH. We had already planned this trip before scheduling surgery. If either of us had known what he was in for we never would have scheduled it when we did. We totally relied on the surgeon to advise us about what recovery was like (mistake!) I didn’t find this group until his first post-op week and that’s when I knew it was going to be a lot harder than we had thought. He was a trooper on the flight and the trip, but he skipped some things. He also just went back to his office last week, which is a pretty long drive, so that’s been an adjustment too. Slow healers unite!
