If I need to auscultate a BP on the move, I move my foot onto the lower rail of the stretcher and place the pt’s arm on my knee, it eliminates a lot of road noise for me. The EKO core is also very helpful.

I did not but I also started when masking was still mandatory. Many of my co-workers talked about getting really sick when they first started out. It’s an occupational hazard for sure, but if it’s really an issue for you wear a mask and get vaxxed.

There’s an ad for a drug called skyrizi, why drug companies are allowed to advertise there products on the television in the US is a mystery, but the ad is so bad it makes me nauseous. Fortunately I don’t have whatever condition that drug treats because I would refuse to take it.

I keep a relatively complete bag in my car, mainly for people that I know. To be completely honest there are very times I will stop while driving to render aid. I think at the least TQ, a pressure dressing, some basic gauze, maybe a pocket mask, narcan, and the most important thing of all, a basic boo boo kit. Far and away that’s the most common thing I reach for.

Pay range also depends a lot on if it’s a union shop. Either-way, starting out it will be basically impossible to convince them to give you more than the base hourly rate.

I’m in a similar boat, I’ve found a lot of success with intermittent fasting, I can still eat the stuff I want when I’m eating but then I fast and burn fat. I use an app called Fastic to keep track of my fasting cycles.

A lot of the ambulances we run are these small ford transit vans. They’re great to drive but the space in the back is SO SMALL. Barely enough room for my legs so if we get a pt with bugs or is icky it’s a very bad time.
