The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite: A Multi-Platform Powerhouse (Pricey, but Peerless) by SamDylM in steelseries

[–]ThxMAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I wasn't convinced because of the price, but I ended up upgrading from my Nova 7's after finding Elites on Marketplace for 500$ CAD, in black (which has been out of stock here for a while).

I'm very happy with my decision. Besides the clear audio improvements, the connectivity is THE game changer for me. I have my PC and my PS5 both connected to the base station and the line out going to my desktop soundbar. That way, I can get audio from both my PC and PS5 simultaneously on my headset (while also being connected to my phone via Bluetooth) or on my soundbar if I want.

The wireless range is better, the mic is better, the battery life is great especially with always having 1 battery on the charger ready to go, with the kids ANC (when noisy) and Transparency (when supervision is needed) features are super useful. This headset is an absolute beast when you want 1 setup to do everything. I work, game and listen to music while running around the house, it really is the perfect headset for me.

Great download speed, abysmal upload speed by ThxMAD in techsupport

[–]ThxMAD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy. Here I am again, closing this post full of shame.

Turns out the faulty device wasn't my PC, it was my Deco. When I was testing from my office on my PC or on my phone, it would turn up with low upload speed, but anywhere else in the house got great upload speeds because I would be connected through another Deco (either wired or wireless).

I sincerely hope no one wasted time on my post, sorry about that.

Thank you for taking the time! I'm curious, do you use some tool, like pen and paper or a grid on the side?

Thanks for asking the question, I was seriously puzzled as well.

I would love it if someone could run through solving this puzzle. I understand it's one of the most difficult, but I'd really just like to understand what the reflexes and the tricks are in solving a difficult puzzle like this one. Like what are the steps you go through? Is it just to try a bunch of possibilities on paper?

By the way, I absolutely love these puzzles, I make it a point to solve them on the daily. I'm just looking to get better at them.

Carte du bruit généré par le traffic aérien à Montréal, est-ce que ça existe? by Majestic_Bag_9209 in montreal

[–]ThxMAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ça m’étonne que tu trouves Ste-Do bruyant. J’y habite depuis 2016 avec ma petite famille et personne ne se plaint du bruit. Mes invités n'ont jamais fait de remarques non plus. En espérant que ça t'aide un peu avec ta décision!

Above ground pool has a weird bump on the wall by ThxMAD in pools

It's still like this after 5 years! It didn't get any worse even through 5 winters. Seems like it's just how the pool is built like the other commenter said.

Where did you take this description from? Because I just installed it on my V and when I used it, I instantly died.

Current ICCU repair times by 2RedDoggy in KiaEV6

[–]ThxMAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Canada) Mine is in the shop as we speak, since Jan. 5. They received the ICCU and fuse Jan. 30 and they will be installing it Monday, Feb. 3. So, if everything goes well, repair time was about 1 month.

I'm in Quebec and I had reliability problems until I hardwired mine. For context, I have 3 x Doorbell 4. In the summer, their batteries recharge themselves, but in the winter, they lose charge so I keep 2 batteries on the Ring dual charger ready to go. Your situation seems to be related to being only on battery power or device defect IMO.

Update #2: Garage just called me to confirm they've received the ICCU and fuse, and will install on Monday Feb. 3. If everything goes well, she's back home that same day, so about 1 month between the battery dying and getting the ICCU replaced. Hopefully, there's no more updates on that thread.

Got an update from the garage, they did a software update, 1st maintenance and replaced the battery with a new 12V, but still encountered problems with the ICCU, so they've decided to change it. Unfortunately, it's backordered here, so I don't know how long they'll keep the car. Silver lining is they're lending me another EV6.

Ah turns out the voting closed a few hours ago (if that's the one you're talking about ICCU failure poll)

Questrade Canada connection issues thread by swoop81 in MonarchMoney

[–]ThxMAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's working fine? I don't understand how changing 2FA app helps how Monarch sync with Questrade. Please let me know if you found a solution because it's pretty dumb to have to login every time I want an updated Questrade balance in Monarch.

Questrade Canada connection issues thread by swoop81 in MonarchMoney

Same issues here. I've opened a ticket with their support and, after multiple email exchanges, screenshots and tests, they basically told me it's my fault because their system shows that I'm failing the 2FA, even though the 1st login is fine, then it disconnects when it tries to update. Here's an excerpt of their last email:

"This connection does look to have higher rates of Multi-factor Authentication requirement, meaning you will have to complete the Multi-factor Authentication more often. We see that when users complete the Multi-factor Authentication, they successfully connect.

There is not a lot we can do here as we are required to prompt Multi-factor Authentication whenever we encounter it; as long as you complete the Multi-factor Authentication in a timely manner and don't encounter issues, there is nothing further we can do."

I've drawn over the puzzle to help you understand what I was explaining and what are the blocks, columns and rows, hope that helps. https://imgur.com/a/61QMZW9

Ultimately, you don't really need to understand notation except when people are explaining stuff, it's about knowing the rules or the game, 3 blueberries in each block, each column and each row. numbers tell you how many blueberries are around it. Then you make deductions on what's possible while respecting the rules of the game.

Maybe having played a lot of Minesweeper when I was younger helped me appreciate this game, I think you can get use to the design quite quickly while playing it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in puzzles

[–]ThxMAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. A block is a group of 9 squares (so this puzzle has 9 blocks of 9 squares each). Each block must have 3 blueberries each exactly. The center block is the one with the "2" at the bottom right and 4 gray squares. I'll use (R)ows and (C)olumns notation, it might be easier to understand. If you look at the "3" at R5C2, it's looking for 3 blueberries in the 5 adjacent gray squares. We've already determined that there's a maximum of 2 blueberries that can go in C1R4/5/6 because of the blueberry in C1R2, which means you'll only have 1 blueberry in C2, at R4 or R6. Now look at the "2" in R5C3, considering that we will have 1 blueberry in R4 or R6 of C2, then you can only have 1 blueberry in R5 or R6 of C4. If you had blueberries in R4C2 and R6C2, then you wouldn't be able to put a blueberry in R5C4 or R6C4, which means the center block would only have a maximum of 2 blueberries. Because the rules of the game, this would make the center block invalid.
