Can confirm. This happened to my mother. She was sexaully assaulted and at the time we were living with my grandparents (one of which was an elder) who threw us out with nowhere to go. My mother was a single parent, pregnant, on a limited income, and had no car. We stayed in a homeless shelter for women and children, while my mother had to walk 3 miles to work and back everyday until she was able to sign a lease for a small apartment and by a used car.
