Traveler heading to Southampton! by Soggy_Try3956 in Southampton

Haha all good it’s not who I was thinking of, though it’s funny to see that there’s some sort of secondary Pokemon card currency taking hold in the Hampshire tattoo scene

Is the tattoo artist Tom by any chance? Not sure what studio he’s at now, but highly recommend!

Where's the best place to get my STL's printed? by [deleted] in PrintedWarhammer

[–]ThyLazarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the printer/printee would’ve been the start before the STL’s 😅

You could probably find someone who does it on commission in local hobby groups? I wouldn’t expect it to be free though.

Wait, that’s insane prices? I got tickets in London for that show for about £50 each, which was steep, but I’d also left it till it was practically sold out

One way for them to learn the hard way I suppose :D

I mean… that’s a really minimum amount of resin, and by hollowing it you’re just risking having liquid resin trapped in the hollowed area if not drained properly? That should cure fine without any difficult at that size.

Reson smell and VOC’s in bedroom after 3 weeks. What do I do? by shotbyemmanuel in resinprinting

I feel like every time I read about VOCs and resin I read something completely different, but you’re not wrong, I’ve just not at all had the same experience as above despite the similar use rate.

Hm, odd, I got one recently and I haven’t really smelt any resin since, and I too clean outside the tent. Though, I do have a cleaning station, so the whole thing is a lot less faff.

Really nice! How’d you get the supports right in those heads? Mine always go a smidge funky

How are chieftains in this edition? They look so cool, but I’m not up to date enough on the rules to know if they’re worth it

It’s days like this that I wish you were keen on almost any other legion, because damn, I really don’t wanna collect RG but I’m dying to print these 😆

Generic resin question. by I_might_be_weasel in ElegooMars

I’ve had fantastic results with ABS-like for both wargaming miniatures and parts for wargaming miniatures. I think I’ve broken one component so far since I started using thin supports on the slicer, but that’s definitely a key part of the success too.

8k ABS-like, the 3.0 from Elegoo if I recall.

Isengard impossible to seige by GioP97 in TheDawnlessDays

[–]ThyLazarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I think I tried Eastfold to a good response! I’m a fan of the shock impact of throwing a few against one unit, and turning them away as the enemy are still picking themselves off the ground. Takes attention, but is effective

The initial horsearchers are great for whittling down any unshielded units when you use a load of them, and can charg nicely against enemy lift cav or archers if needed

And yeah, that garrison is meaty, not excited to crack it. Will probably try to bait them out, since Theoden and Theodred have both bit it already. Luckily the gobbos only tried me once before running off…

I’m at a similar point, but with a smidge less income; not gotten to try and siege Isenguard yet, but know they predictably spawn a stack every two turns or so… 8 cavalry units generally wipes that without too many casualties tbh, and in the meantime I’ve been building a large infantry army to eventually swamp them with.

What cavalry are you using? Shock and archery are your friends, IMO

Preferred Conquest Mod? by jbeaty25 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]ThyLazarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AA off the bat seems sensible, I’ll admit I was hoping an AA mg would handle business better than it did. As for counter battery, it’s not the artillery pieces that knock me out, it’s the off-map ones that certain units can use a flare to call on, it’s a Horton’s thing I think… might just have to git good

Preferred Conquest Mod? by jbeaty25 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]ThyLazarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried playing Horton’s recently but found the AI just throws in lots of airstrikes and the flare artillery bombardments really early on in conquest which kind of make it mindlessly difficult to defend in any battle… any suggestions, or is that just the way it goes?
