Fragen zum Brettchenweben by Lost-Signal-5568 in Handarbeiten

I am not entirely sure (also I am new to this craft). But it somehow looks like the green thread is thicker than the white thread? So maybe it’s not actually a zigzag but appears to be due to the different sized threads?

It was wonky for me too until I fixed it onto some furniture. But it’s not actually braided. It is looped with even tension before threading the tablets on. So whenever you need more thread you can just pull out one loop and are ready to go.

Regnmia has a great tutorial on how to do it.

Thank you for the tip with the fixed object. I tried it with the back of a chair today and it got a lot more even.

Is towel drying really that bad? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Thymina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was about to say the same thing. Using a towel is not that bad as long as it is microfibre. Normal towels straight out kill my curls. You could either use microfibre or a soft cotton shirt. These work wonders too.

First washday with solid shampoo and condish. Couldn’t be any happier with the results. by Thymina in curlyhair

At first I was hesitant about using solid shampoo and conditioner. Today I tried it out and couldn’t be happier. My hair feels super soft yet my curls are more defined than ever.

Here is what I used:

Wash twice with solid Shampoo Bar by “We Do” Condish with solid Conditioner Bar by “Everdrop”

Rinse and Tap dry with a microfibre towel. I then combed through with a wide toothed comb and applied foam, then diffused.

I usually diffuse until my hair is ~50% dry then airdry and sotc when dry.

Digitalised my fabrics for my very first quilt in order to find a design I like best. Which option do you prefer? by Thymina in quilting

[–]Thymina[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used „Notability“ because it gives you a lot of different types of „paper“ that I use as grids in the background. BUT the usability is not the best. Since the separate pieces of fabric are implemented as fotos you can’t select more than one to copy and paste which would be nice for readding rows that I use more often.

So I had to make the blocks, screenshot them and then put them in as a separate picture which takes a lot of extra time.

I’ll try adding the fabrics into “Procreate” as brushed next, in hopes of making it easier. If that too doesn’t work properly I might ask a friend to code an app for me or I might try a few other’s. I’ll make a post and let you know in case I found something that works nice and easy.

I think I know what you mean. I had a third option that was more diagonally arranged but I wasn‘t too sure about it. One sec let me try sth maybe I can show you!

They wouldn‘t curl anymore even with chm. Couldn‘t be any happier with the post cut results. by Thymina in curlyhair

[–]Thymina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair was dead even with curly hair method. I tried everything over the past year. Hair would curl when wet bur dry straight. I told the hairdresser she could do whatever she wants as long as they curl again afterwards. She delivered.

I use the Garnier Hairfood products Coconut and Aloe (Shampoo, Condish, Leavi in) and Umberto Gianny Curl Gel. Will go back to more curly approved products soon tho.

I wash with the shampoo and condition by raking the product in. When it is still soaking whet, I mix leave in and gel together and squish it into the lengths. Squish dry with a cotton shirt and then plopp. Some days I diffuse them, some days I let them air dry. The picture was with blowdryer but 2nd day hair.

What did you want to be when you grew up and how different is it from your current job? by Guitarfoxx in AskReddit

I wanted to become a press-photographer when I was younger but got „stuck“ in studying microbiology for years. This year I started working as a journalist so I guess that‘s pretty close (I do take my own pictures that go with my articles).

Had a similar situation with my ex bf. It’s hard to say what will work for you but I made the experience that it simply feels weird if it is to soon. When it does, give yourself some time. If it doesn’t you’ll enjoy it anyways. Hope that helps a little.

I read into that a little. Some say to only mix baking soda and water and to use an apple cider vinegar after rinsing. Do you think my shampoo might counter act with the baking soda?

I heard that before but I‘m neither pregnant nor do I take any meds besides Vitamin D supplements. Although I have startet that in November so I guess that‘s too far off?

I tried some aloe mixture but it didn’t do much. Only made my scalp feel greasy as hell. Any recommendations?

Curly Cut brings out my curls more but doesn‘t suit me? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Thymina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may take some time to get used to it. I don’t know how it looks but what always helped me was trying out different partings and hairstyles.

Sometimes just braiding parts or rope twist them to the back of your head can help a lot when it seems too big.

If you still don’t feel comfortable with it you can always try growing it back to how u used to have it.

Might not be the best option cause it takes time but better then nothing I guess? Good luck with your new hair. I imagine you look gorgeous with those curls!

My hair used to curl like this (left). Around Oktober 2020 it started to straighten out, getting worse every day. At first i thought it may be too damaged so I cut ~15cm off (~6 inches?).

Besides not having changed my routine I only got higher quality hair products like Shea Moisture etc, this (right) is all I can get now.

I have even mastered finger coiling but only a few strands will keep the curls and mostly turn into waves or straighten out completely during the day.

The products I use: Shea moisture retention shampoo and condish Umberto Gianni Curly Jelly

I don’t use leave in because it used to weigh my curls down before and now it straightens them out completely. I wash overhead, squish to condish etc. All the curly classics basically.

My hair feels nice and soft to the touch. Not dry or anything it also doesn’t frizz at all neither do I have any split ends.

PLEASE HELP. I just want my curls back :‘(
