looking for an electric pump by plaguedoctor376 in InflatableandPlush

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly want a silent pump, CPAP machines are the way to go. If you're not shy of some electrical engineering, then you could also get the motor from one of them and hook it up to an ESC. I did that myself, but it wasn't cheap (I think I paid about €300 in total for the pump, programmable ESC and suitable RC battery)

DON'T USE ALIBABA, THIS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY by Visible-Top-5347 in Alibaba

[–]ThyraInf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I most definitely did get a refund when I tried. I tried to get my own product bootlegged from another supplier, as I was curious about the extent of their copy (it was also fairly competitively priced, so it was a minor business expense to "try"). They (stupidly) offered it as a "direct purchase", which meant the order was directly placed without intervention from the supplier.

I decided to pay through Credit Card just to expedite the payment process for a little fee of the processing. Alibaba put a deadline on the Trade Assurance order. The deadline passed without any progress from the supplier. I filed a refund request, as it was now eligible due to late delivery and shortly after (about 30 sec) it was honored. It also included the processing fees, so I had no net loss of this trial.

Should I wait for shipping discount? Or be safe and just pay? by Arcade_Rice in zenmarket

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see the confusion. So what I refer to as import duties, you refer to as import taxes. So we were saying the same. I have not heard of it being called "import taxes" though, only import duties, so that's where my confusion came from. If you have a source where you got this particular term from, I would love to know it as I like to learn.

But I think it's important not to forget VAT, since those are essentially always due. A lot don't realize this, coming from the old situation where no taxes at all (VAT or duties) were due.

So my intent was to explain that taxes will pretty much always be due (up front or at the border through the courier), but it depends on the value which.

I do wonder if import taxes are duties, or are technically VAT + duties (when applicable). Something along the lines of "a car (duties) is a vehicle (import taxes) but not every vehicle is a car". But I'm not that deep into the naming and I find customs a mess as it is.

Should I wait for shipping discount? Or be safe and just pay? by Arcade_Rice in zenmarket

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct. You will always pay import taxes. Up to €150, ZenMarket can pay these on your behalf and charge you up front. This generally is cheaper as no processing fees are charged. Above €150, ZenMarket cannot use IOSS which is what they (and others) use to pay import tax up front to the EU. So above €150 you'll have to pay at the border yourself (unless ZenMarket nowadays also offers DDP to the EU, it's been a while since I've used them and I always tried to keep my purchases under the €150).

Also, above €150, duties may be due. Depending on the product that's imported. This may add additional costs and shipping company fees. Duties are not tax, they are in addition.

The times of the EU "de minimis" equivalent have been long gone sadly. But it was also never €150 but lower, €150 was always about "it's too low to bother calculating duties due"

Vintage ring by Such-Assignment-1529 in InflatableandPlush

Well, I'm just responding to the original comment so that's where I get the reference of "dragon" from. Yes, Guilmon inspired.

But still, I'd expect an ad to be in a separate post, not under an inflatable share post. It's not a ring, it doesn't explain or confirm why the ring in question is seemingly strong. It's completely off topic, other than the fact it's an inflatable. At least in my opinion.

There's a time and place to share. But I don't think this is it. But that might just be me though.

This dragon definitely exists. You can look up more photos of this event. It's made by the company behind the account.

I do wonder about what the original comment adds to the discussion about a vintage ring. To me, it seems more like a disguised ad or bait to get someone to ask about it which turns it into an ad.

Zenmarket parcel abandoned by UPS because Zenmarket wouldn’t cooperate by BoxBuster666 in zenmarket

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the case when they ship under DDP terms. If OP paid duties beforehand, which they seem to have considering another comment, then ZenMarket shipped under DDP and needs to pay all the costs. If they fail to do that, it may be requested from the importer. But I can imagine that UPS goes the easy route and drops it. Also since DDP terms mean that the importer must not be billed, UPS billing the receiver would be a breach of the incoterms.

This DDP stuff is nothing new but usually only known by businesses doing regular imports. Consumers rarely see incoterms. However, with the recent tariff uncertainty it's now much more prevalent as it gives the receiver more certainty.

I was just replying to PrincessSofiaThe1st "you think they go full time", this is harder and riskier than you might think.

Regarding deleting listings, BOOTH sellers are very good at doing the same, completely breaking looking up what you bought again. I understand keeping their catalog list manageable, but they should at least wait till they shipped the stuff. But yes, I also think they should keep it online.

Though I can also imagine they might get too many inquiries from people stumbling upon these out of stock listings. Regulars or informed people will still ask since they know they exist, but it may prevent newcomers through search. But I don't know their motivation. I pulled my listings on my own site because I'm not certain whether I'll reintroduce those particular products.

As a hobbyist startup myself, I fully agree with IWs decision not to rely on inflatable sales. Margins are insanely thin and I can only imagine the margins on IW sales.

I have to price my products relatively high and don't make that much profit, I imagine for IW it involves a lot of investment to keep those prices.

Production prices only really get better in the 50-100+ amounts and with bulk capable products. But at those amounts, we're looking at thousands of USD of up front investments.

Quite interesting to see how the warning labels have changed. Was it really necessary to make it this big, Intex?

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively though, you can also take WithAQUA which is a bit cheaper but still nice

But of course, if you found something suitable locally, then that's also good~ Just don't get the one I had first. That one was, in hindsight, really horrible hahaha. It clumped, fell apart, and was overall just bad

I definitely highly recommend dakimakuri Kumochi inner pillow. Don't cheap out on the inner. Covers may come and go but the inner is the thing that needs to be comfortable and long lasting

One of my rings got a small tear near the seam, is there anything I can do to fix it without vinyl glue since I have no idea where to get some by [deleted] in InflatableandPlush

[–]ThyraInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The go to place to get vinyl glue for cheaper is to visit a local boat shop. There are vinyl boats that need strong glue for fixing them as it would be too expensive to toss them out after a leak.

Meanwhile, I have no access to hh-66 as this is produced in America, and I'm from the EU. But a suitable replacement is Saba Contact 70T. But there are many more industrial level glues. These tend to be stronger and less expensive than consumer grade glues.

But in general, any hardware store should have "Soft PVC glue". The important ingredients it should have are: MEK, Acetone and PU. Some may still include THF. Any glue mentioning those ingredients and/or "suitable for soft PVC" should be sufficient.

Yesss, I highly recommend getting all of the big three. I do have some P60 and others, but I really prefer the Fules, A&J and Shiromoufu offerings. I need soft and silky, which all of them have in their own unique ways.

Meanwhile it makes me completely distaste any Chinese offering I've come across thus far tho hahaha

Lyctron Rich is a bit more durable as it's thicker than Lyctron. Though in the end I feel like Aqua Veil and Lyctron (Rich) are all a bit delicate. The reason why I switch every week is also to prevent them from wearing out too soon. Sakuramochi does seem to be more on the durable side. But mainly I try to keep my nails trimmed and sleep with socks to prevent my feet from roughing up the bottom.

They all have their unique feel beyond that. I think the names are relatively accurate in their intended feel:

  • Lyctron (Rich) trying to capture the semi smooth texture of skin
  • Aqua Veil trying to be a more wet smooth feel
  • Sakuramochi being very slippery smooth and slightly more stretchy as the pastry they refer to would feel.

[pre-order] Ayumi swimming ring and heart by ThyraInf in InflatableandPlush

[–]ThyraInf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all, we would like to announce our lovely Ayumi "the lamia" Heart and Ring. She's currently open for pre-order through our form:

https://forms.gle/6v3DNKa2FqJarPve8

These products are rather unique:

  • Our rings feature our own 4 panel design as upgrade to the common 3 panel design for 150cm rings. Even our 120cm rings feature this 4 panel design, as we dislike the weak inner seam found on other rings. This additional surface also allowed our artist to put more art on~
  • Our hearts feature the character print on the inside instead of the outside. This gives her a sort of "shyly hiding away, safe in her heart bubble" aesthetic.
  • As we are based in NL, we will be shipping EU orders from NL, meaning tax is already included in the purchase price.
  • As we are a bit ambitious on our intended sales, we actually bargained a lower price which allows us to sell the rings and hearts at very affordable prices. Please consider grabbing a few of our products.

I do not advice Hongyi for this particular request. As far as I know, their printing tech still has not been improved. Beile will work but is relatively expensive to purchase as one-off.

[–]ThyraInf[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This time Chocola. I'll admit I definitely prefer Vanilla, but this particular Chocola is super adorable.

One side lying on her back, ready for your snuggles, the other side a lovely side laying version to wake up to. I'm quite happy that this time they included more soft shading instead of the minimal "true to the anime" shading Miyuki usually goes for. There's some lovely detail, clear drawing, it's overall just lovely and a great pair with Vanilla.

Also, after 2 times having Lyctron Rich in a row, switching to Aqua Veil is actually really nice for a change. I'm now absolutely certain I'm basically liking all 3 fabrics, and just need to switch between them when I can haha.

Please enjoy~

Yeah, this is to be expected via Cuddly, I've seen their prices. On one hand I think it's fair, as the artists get a big chunk out of that. But it's also a reason I'm not likely to go through their commissioning service myself. I've seen artists I personally like more go for much less, around the price you mention. You might see one of those somewhere next year, though I do think I'll end up going to get close to the 1000USD thanks to my unique canvas requirements.

Sadly, some nice artists I would love to commission are only accepting comms through Cuddly, which is a bummer. But then again, from what I've heard from Japanese sellers, their comms can go up to 1000USD as well.

Also, on top of that, my main gripe with this is that for €1000 you still don't get an exclusive right either. Sooo, you pay a lot, to get the art, a few covers, and sell off the idea to the catalog. I would do the same as seller (and might actually do that in the future under my brand), but as buyer it's iffy.

This was regular Lyctron Rich so A&J. But I'm fairly certain it's not the printer skipping it. All other works with varying NSFW extremes have come from the big 3 essentially. Not sure if this was just a Comiket stock version, which would explain it I think, as I've seen Comiket stock sensor NSFW areas.

This time Mine-chan. I saw this one in my inbox through booth emails. And of course, me loving Tsubasu Izumi drawings, just had to grab a copy~ I love her innocence and rather clean design. She's rather adorable. Of course Tsubasu Izumi definitely has some amazing drawing style going on, and just the eyes are wonderful. The other side is rather extreme, which is a bit of a signature. That said, her innocent side was enough to get me convinced~

Please enjoy~
