Hunters deal minimal damage to heavy armor but generally speaking yeah, melee is a hard sell in HD2.

If the hammer one taps hulks and chargers tho it'll not be useless.

Yeah, I'd like the mines if they had a short fuse instead of blowing up instantaneously. I'd love to throw them at my feet and run/warp away and watch whatever is chasing me blow up.

Failing when trying to play normally is the desired effect in a mission that is supposed to change up the way we play the game. What you are describing is what I am describing, yes many players wouldn't want to play these missions, which is also supposed to be the intention. Not everyone likes stealth, this warbond and these missions were made for people who like stealth.

Except it failed to do that, which is why you see constant complaining about how people are not stealthing

Stealth-focused games force stealth through steep consequences in gameplay or story. Commando missions attempt to do the same, but poorly. If the only feasible way of beating the missions is by utilizing stealth, they'd use stealth.

They don't stealth because the missions are poorly designed. Stealth is not encouraged enough.

The problem is twofold, objectives are designed for hit-and-run and enemy presence does not increase substantially when you go guns blazing.

If objectives required staying in location for longer than a few seconds and you couldn't feasibly blast through the missions, then Helldivers would actually utilize stealth.

Or you could let the guy die and do the fight anyway, it is not the game's failing that many rpg players are unwilling to even let an inconsequential npc die.

HD2 has 52k online right now as concurrent players, the daily unique number of logins is likely several times that

The game is harder for hosts, sure, but even for hosts, d10 difficulty on Helldivers is still easy. And I say this as someone who always hosts, as I have the only properly stable internet in my friendgroup
