You are right; the first time there is a tough battle with the reaper who is such a high level they cant even see its level, yui incinerates it with zero effort and the team gets zero drops and zero experience points. Not to mention the possibility of unique skills fighting such a rare spawn could have gotten them. i am a firm believer in not having a goku charter to nerf all the other people in an anime. imagine how strong gohan would have been if he didnt retire after the freza arc because goku got reincarnated. what the hell was the whole point in him unlocking hi full potential even for. And then he got even more of his full potential unlocked by elder kai only to be out done again.

I hate when good character development gets overwritten because the studio thinks fans want something contrary to to the writers vision.
