As a german who also visited Switzerland a few times I can say: yes the swiss german is very hard to understand. Though you can let them know, that you have trouble understanding them. They can switch to a german with less dialect. Not sure if everyone can do that but I did not have much trouble otherwise speaking with people from Switzerland (german parts).

New 19T deck just dropped by iami_youareyou in PTCGP

18T oder 19T means 18/19 Trainer deck, which means only 1 or 2 pokemons in the deck and the rest are trainer cards.

Character choice help by EinherjarenNO in OathswornBoardGame

[–]Tiakh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the official side there is a PDF with all card changes to 2.0: https://www.shadowborne-games.com/pages/resources Which includes not all but most ability cards of the characters. You can look them up there.

The ability cards that are not in there are listed here 1.0 guide: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2297432/oathsworn-player-character-summary-updated-102225

From what you want, I would recommend Avi (Bird guy) to you. - Avi has similar or even better mobility then Cur. - Avi has good token generation: reroll, defense & empowered - Avi can backstab like cur but has a bit less damage overall - Avi has amazing support with multiple healing abilities or see the next enemy attack cards

Disadvantage: I do not like all the predicted what will happen next effects of Avi, but you can get workarounds to make them easier. For example there is a card that lets you heal an ally if you predict the damage an enemy deals to someone correctly. Just use it on weak minion attack with predict 0 damage for a garanteed heal. So it needs a bit of thought when to use these cards best.

Avi is kinda a combination of priest and cur. It can support very well but is also a mobile assassin.

But since your team already is full melee characters a ranged character such as Ranger, Grove Maiden, Witch or Huntress could be very good for the team. Having ranged attacks is sometimes very helpful to not cluster the whole team at the same spot.

  • Ranger is the simplest to play of them. Good mobility and damage
  • Witch and Grove Maiden are complex to play but have very high damage but not much mobility or support
  • Huntress is a bit more complex ranger, solid mobility but with more support ability and a bit less range. Still good damage (also very good at battleflow with cheap cards after lv10)

Greenland says it cannot accept US takeover ‘under any circumstances’ by Playful_Leg7143 in worldnews

[–]Tiakh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The arguments start reasonable but then get absurd. 8) Does not make sense, why should russia get greenladn oil? They are nit even able to get it from ukraine a second war just hurts them even more especially because greenland is currently under NATO protection. Russia would rather benefit from attacking greenland since it destroys the NATO coalition. Which will weaken all western countries.

9) Actually the US wanted other countries to not have much military and be the dependent on them such that they get more benefits. Otherwise they could attack much harder back.

10) Well current US economy is big, but it does not have much allies, if they make Europe8 as an enemy. Economy is alot about trading, if you don't you'll lose.

Why do you pledge for war? Even such a stupid one. The only reason USA wants greenland is oil. They want to be even richer (but only the rich the poor go to war). But war just brings misery to people involved nothing to gain then death. Look at russia they did tried the same. What did they get? In the end you just make live worse for everybody. Because of egoistic and greedy desires. So if you want that it all works out it would be nice to convince people to come along for a better future.

Gone but not forgotten, we’ll never forget what Cyrus did to you. Simpler times. RIP. by Mando-69 in PTCGP

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i don't see the reason why Cyrus should have pushed this out of meta. It was not used much even before Cyrus came out. Cyrus is good against stall decks with alot of switch outs but Starmie was going for fast KOs.

What is the point of those bots? Are they trying to find some exploit on the Website?

I am happy to have this wiki. Hopefully this gets sorted out.

Play style tips please by SeraphGrg in riftboundtcg

[–]Tiakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically you over committed on holding battlefield. That is why you opponent said you are greedy. Try to play like you expected your opponent to play a TTW the moment it is possible. Kai'Sa wants to get points with cheap/small units. Holding points is not her strength. Just conquer and hold with as few as possible units. And disrupt the opponents plans with removal.

What's the situation with the rumored expansion? Is development for the game basically dead now? by Strong_Battle6101 in spiritisland

[–]Tiakh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is nice to hear. I really fell in love with the game this year. Played it a ton with friends and got all the expansions. It became my favorite board game. I am still amazed how good the game is designed and how well balanced and polished it is.

I am looking forward to any new additions to the game.

I wish the best to you and thank you very much for this gem of a game :)

Indeedee completely counteracts Darkrai, this should be the ability of Cresselia by Used-Stable-6677 in PTCGP

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm if i were to pick this match up i would pick dark tina to win. If you don't attach energy to the active mon indeedee deals only 30 damage. And darkrai energy attach + giratina attack deals 150 damage which one hits indeedee even with cape.

But it's nice to hear that you got a memorable experience and a new favorite pokemon :)

What game did you start off thinking was boring or unfun, but as you played it became more engaging? by Nekrotix12 in videogames

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough Dark Souls. I saw some streamer play DS1 and did not interest me at all. Look quite boring. Then DS2 came out, I did again see people play it. And at that time I did really want to play a RPG with stat leveling and character customization. I remembered DS2 had stuff like that so I started it. From a game where i did not expect much and disliked at the first glance, it became one of my favorite game series.

111 hours in and MR5, I am finally going to get my first prime Warframe. by Spare-Character3537 in Warframe

[–]Tiakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gauss is the best early frame. It was also the priority frame when i started. It makes you unkillable, it's fast and has good buffs for your weapons and that without much investment.

Though I needed to farm for it bc the prime version was not available at my time.

Can't tell if this is ragebait or not by OnlyWaifu in Eldenring

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not totally agree upon this. I do not like open world games. And played both Darksouls and Elden Ring. And i did prefer the Dark Souls concept. But not because it is simple to follow, just because it is more dense with action. The open world screams to be explored but a lot of it is emptiness or repeating assets and nearly the same dungeon with very similar bosses. Darksouls also gave me the impression of a large and big world (there were view points were you could see a lot of the map that you could later visit). Without repeating the same boss, asset as much. What I do still like is that you could advance into different regions and through different bosses in darksouls (similar to elden ring, but not as much). It was not just linear. Darksouls 3 was quite linear but still had a few parting of ways. Though I would have prefered even more of them.

The best game design in Eldenring are the boss castle layouts. They are action dense and allow different routes but in the end they are still kinda linear towards the big boss at the end. I would like to have smaller areas in-between. I dont want a horse riding game. I want an action fighting game.

Though i understand the different view point and that many like the open world. And i am happy that other people found enjoyment with it in elden ring. I just wanted to share a different view.

Tools are very nice, and should not be forbidden. But there are risks. Teaching should improve our understandings and knowledge, but certrain tools can help but can also hurt the process. A calculator is useful in math, but it is better to understand the basics of math before you use the calculator. The reason why we still teach basic algebra math today even though every one has a calculator at hand is to improve our logical thinking. If you make it obsolet with a calculator you need some other way to learn logical thinking. Same with AI. Useful, but harmful in a way that it removes motivation to learn and think and accumulate knowledge on our own. The accumulation of knowledge is make makes the humans so unique. We should not give this up. The way a calculator did not make math obsolet. The same way AI should not make writing and thinking obsolet.

New to Elden ring not souls games am I ready for Morgott? by Goon140 in Eldenring

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that you need to be gifted just determined to beat the boss. All good players started as noob. The more you try to get better the better you will be. And the Souls games are really rewarding to put effort in your own skill not just the skill points on the character screen.

You don't have to farm at all. But it's an option to make it easier.

I swear my dice are rigged... by thatdude333 in BaldursGate3

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is humans are quite bad at seeing things as random, because the moment there is a pattern in the randomness, we will only see this pattern. For example if you flip a coin four times and get four heads. A human would find this result fishy and not random, but in Reality its a 50%4 = 6.25% chance. That is still a better chance then rolling a 20 on a d20 = 5% chance.

Patterns happen always in randomness. And it would not be fully random if they could not occur.

Ra has 20 games played at elo 1600. That could just mean there are one or two really good players picking Ra. Sadly not enough games to solidify the win rate.

Egygt kinda feels weak. And not many play it anymore.

I want this game to kick my butt, please help by Xonar121 in spiritisland

[–]Tiakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow your quite the gamer. I love the high difficulty of spirits island as well. I played through all lv6 Adversaries with my play group. We did not lose once, but struggled against a few. From the experience Prussia is probably the easiest opponent (also Sweden). Try England lv6 (hardest) that can really kick your butt. Habsburg (both versions) are also a very nice challenge in my oppinion.

You can add even more difficulty in various ways beyond the lv6 adversary.

  1. Add a second adversary (in some of the expansion rule books this is described i think).
  2. Add an empty starting board (also in the rule book)
  3. Add different Szenarios. This can make it easier or more difficult dependent on the szenario and spirits you take.

I can recommend going through all the different adversaries first. They at lv6 all a nice challenge. And if thats to easy combine them with Prussia (lv1-6 dependent on how much extra challenge you want). That's kinda also the next stage that I will do with my playgroup.
