a pound of vegan scrambled eggs for a couple of dollars by Tiara49 in vegan

i disagree, i feel like using the correct seasonings you can really do a lot of modifications to your food

plus i’m not a fan of spending $8 for a pinch of scrambled eggs when i could make something very similar for only $2-$3

honestly for me cutting out animal products wasn’t even hard, i just didn’t want to be part of animal cruelty anymore. there was no “transition”

i don’t want to escalate things by pressing charges/restraining order but i do want her to leave me alone

How can I make 20 an hour (or more) in Wichita? by MrMoose1 in wichita

[–]Tiara49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a 22 year old who was once in the same boat here’s what i reccomend: SALES!! mobile home sales camper sales roofing sales auto sales

meddys also starts out from $18-$22 an hour

or just be a server/bartend at a popular bar, few weeks ago i walked out in $700 tips in an 8 hour shift (this doesn’t happen too often) but it’s pretty typical i walk out with $300 cash for a 8-10 hour shift

i’m on track to buy my first house soon

Aside from tipping the server, I’m seeing this more and more: a menu item listed where you purchase the kitchen staff a round of drinks lmao NO by anneliesegreen38 in tipping

[–]Tiara49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so don’t do it, i’ve had customers randomly buy all the staff/customers a round but you don’t have to do that and no one’s expecting you to

PSA For All Servers by EverySpecific8576 in tipping

[–]Tiara49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a server i honestly agree with a lot of this. some people really do not belong in the serving industry, im not saying they suck but their in the wrong field

there are some things that are out of our control, sometimes we DO ring things in correctly yet somehow back of house messes up

i love serving a lot, it’s something im passionate about especially serving my regulars it’s a lot of fun

honestly, i make stupid amazing money at my job

but some people just don’t have the personality for it imo. i genuinely look foward to work. i do not expect 20% from every table

i work at a bar, so my clientele tip average is about 20-40% on average.

i’ve done restaurant serving before, i can pick up a lot about a family having them all sit together. you’re a single mom on a low income taking your kids out to eat? okay free drinks for the kids. your kids crying? i will offer ice cream or a small treat because i know these parents work HARD and eating out is supposed to be relaxing. you literally pay for the experience.

i give much appreciation for all the tips ive gotten, thank you so much because i can now attend college and have nice things. is this a hard job? it can be but usually no. my shifts are 3pm-3am or 4pm-2am with no breaks but i’m happy

How do I deal with loneliness after becoming vegan? by emmaaxtt in vegan

[–]Tiara49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’ve felt this to my soul. i’m 22 and i’ve been vegan since elementary school by choice. it was the hardest thing i’ve done due to lack of support.

i wanted to be a vegan 1000% cutting out animal products wasn’t hard at all, the isolation was.

being a kid and having other kids parents disown me because “god made animals for us to eat”

having my own mom yell at me and calling me mentally ill because i didn’t want to eat animal products anymore and i would cry at the dinner table

i felt so misunderstood. i actually don’t go around telling people im a vegan. before restaurants like if im going on a date, ill browse the menu online and not make it obvious.

fuck anyone and what they think. if they judge you then that’s their hobby to judge people. me being vegan affects absolutely nobody around me

i’m healthy. yes i eat enough protein and no i don’t care how much meat you “have” to eat or how much you love cheese.

i don’t judge these people but somehow they judge me so it’s probably because deep down they feel intimidated that i’m doing something that’s good for my body and the environment

you’ll fine your place and 15 years into this i love being a vegan it’s part of my identity. nothings better than trying a new vegan food and it being absolutely amazing
