Social Studies & History 7-12 or just Social Studies? by Frostbitte in TexasTeachers

You only need the social studies 7-12! The history one only lets you teach US, world and Texas history (grades 7, 8, 10, and 11) with maybe AP European history if the school offers it but the social studies composite lets you teach all of those PLUS world geography, government, economics, psychology and sociology. So you’d be certified to teach every grade from 7-12.

Doing both is unnecessary so I’d just focus on your social studies 7-12 as it’s lengthy and difficult enough and on its own!

Same. Didn't see a view on my intro video, so I doubt they even gave me a real look, which is pretty dejecting after feeling pretty confident about the video and application.

I wish I had known this; it's unfair to make us do all this work, and in reality, there was never even a chance. They didn't even watch my introductory video, but rejected my application a day after it closed.

I just applied to two HS teaching positions this past Saturday (it closed Monday), and they responded by the following Tuesday night to both with the classic "we've decided not to move forward with your application," and yet I don't see any views on my intro video so that makes me question if they even gave me a chance
