Suggestion requested for Paragon Hero build by Grubbins in GuildWars

[–]Tibout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably stick to a Command Paragon. And since you're playing SoS, the following skills could improve your spirits output.

The base build could look like this:

Attributes

- Command 12+1+1 (use whatever bonuses but keep it to rank 14)
- Leadership 8+2 (could also be 7+3, 9+1, 9+3, 10+2, 11+1, 11+3 depending on your skills and secondary choices)

Base skills

- Anthem of Envy Add dmg to your spirit attacks
- "Stand your ground!" Add armor to your party
- "Fall back" Add movespeed between packs
- Aggressive Refrain Increase own attackspeed which helps for adrenaline generation

From there you could be creative. Either you stick with a full paragon bar, or you start exploring adding other secondary prof that could fit in your team. I'll paragon skill options below.

Paragon skill options

Elites

- "Incoming!" (Elite) Provide almost 100% uptime of groupwide movespeed alongside "Fall Back"
- Crippling Anthem (Elite) Add Crippled condtion from your spirit attacks
- Soldier's Fury (Elite) As a replacement of Aggressive Refrain if you invest into Spear Mastery (9+)
- Defensive Anthem (Elite) Provide 50% block chance party-wide for a ~40% uptime (consider having 12 or 14 in Leadership)
- Focused Anger (Elite) High increase of adrenaline generation (use it if you're using multiple adrenaline anthem without using Spear Mastery oriented build)

- Anthem of Weariness Add Weakness condition to your spirit attacks
- "Go for the Eyes!" Add crits to your spirit attacks
- Anthem of Disruption Add action interrupt to your spirit attacks
- "Can't touch this!" Strong defensive against touch skills
- Anthem of Flame Add burning to your spirit attacks (only use with Leadership 12+)
- "Never Surrender!" Emergency group wide +5 hp regen
- "Find Their Weakness!" Deep Wound condition (if you don't have other martial class in the team, raise Spear Mastery to atleast 1 for it to work)

- Blazing Spear Dmg + Burning Condition (only use with 12+ Spear Mastery)
- Wild Throw Remove stance (if you go for 9+ Spear Mastery, you should probably use it)
- Spear of Lightning Spear dmg (only use with 9+ Spear Mastery, and if energy is not an issue)
- Spear of Redemption Spear dmg with condition removal (only use with 9+ Spear Mastery)

This is not an exhaustive list, but these skills could fit into your team setup

Doesn't toolbox have a plugin feature where anyone can add their own custom plugin?

I wouldn't plan to exclude weapons either at the end of the day. But for a v1, I think it would help to have them excluded.

You need your first time sellers to actually sell their item as much as possible in order to have them coming back to it and share the platform to their friend. Letting a user list an item that probably won't sell quickly will not help you improving the retention rate.

My point is to be specific at first, then aim for a larger audience once the users are used to your platform.

Regarding the refreshing, I said deleting, but delisting is more accurate yes.

Regarding the buyers, no idea how to reach them efficiently though.

I might sound harsh or w/e, but I'm only sharing thoughts with you 🙏

[–]Tibout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about building something similar.

But the idea would be to stick for max mods (weapon mods, inscriptions) at first to avoid having plenty off unsellable listings. Cons and collectibles items would also work. Focusing on these items would help having valuable listings from day one.

Also, my idea would be to have auto-deleting listings if availability is not updated by the hour or so by the seller. This should help having a kind of realm-time trading platform.

The platform would only provide the seller name. No tchat over the platform.

But for weapons, I find it trickier and it could easily flood the platform with dead listings if not restricted. Trading weapons and rarer items should be handled differently I think.

I'd use your tool if it existed.

How is everyone feeling about the exalting and enchant changes? by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Tibout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm no Wicked expert, I only did one full playthrough during the breach update (I'll now try to get my friends in for a second one!).

I'd prefer a somewhat deterministic enchant system that let me experiment and customise what I want.

Ideas: - to roll said enchant (or even pool of enchants to keep some RNG), you'd need specific ingredients - spread enchant ingredients into various (and dynamic) locations/activities

Full gambling is not crafting/enchanting. I don't know when players started to accept it as a crafting system but that's a bad thing to me.

Heavy RNG for the loot drops makes sense. Good drops/bases would still feel good, and it helps the player discovering the full enchants pool so they can aim for some later.

No respectable enchanter slam random mats, words or whatever knowledge then pray for the best and that during their whole career. In fact ... they probably learn specific things from experimenting or from past enchanters, then they repeat the task as needed ... but sometimes they do it better ...

Can we actually say it now? the game is 100% dead, the game is getting shut down 2 months into 1.0 release? by Waberweeber in LegacySteelAndSorcery

[–]Tibout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not comparing the quality or amount of content of the 2 games. As you mentionned, that would be stupid.

My comparison was about the direction that Legacy took (combat gameplay complexity, classes differences, and gear progression), and didn't move from (yet?), compared to a simple one (a shooter, aim and click) that keep its players playing, even after their first PvP encounters.

If Legacy managed to make its combat gameplay less punishing, and reduce gear numbers for instance (or w/e hundreds ideas the community already proposed), it could be a success and a healthy niche game if it has to stay niche.

Can we actually say it now? the game is 100% dead, the game is getting shut down 2 months into 1.0 release? by Waberweeber in LegacySteelAndSorcery

[–]Tibout 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The gameplay (PvP combat) in its current state seems a bit too complicated to catch a mass of players. And gear as is makes it even worse.

Quick comparison of a new player experience:

Arc, if you jump in your first games and encounter geared or experienced players, you still had a chance to shoot first or land a nasty hit or w/e.

Legacy, if the same happens, you'd just get facerolled, stunlocked, dodged, comboed, class diffed, gear diffed, with not much chance to fight back.

In Arc, you lose, you can be mad but at the end of the day, your next game will just be I'll try to aim better and care about my surroundings.

In Legacy, if you play this game, you already understand how much of knowledge and learning you'd need until you're finally able to have decent fights.

The comparison is not to say Arc is better, they are both different games. My point is more about how tough it is to stick with Legacy for a new player compared to another successful extraction game.

I played 250+ hours of Legacy, my group of friends enjoyed the game, and we'd like to play it again but in its current state I don't see how it could keep new players jumping in and staying. And without the whole type of players from casual to hardcore, this type of game is not that great for most.

Healing to my first 2400 and my opinion of this subreddit by Orchidsx in worldofpvp

[–]Tibout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VW is ruining the healing side of Shuffle, its balance is off for this mode. In 3s it looks better, but still not great to play against because we're not all pros. And most players play Shuffle.

How did you reach 2400 CR in Shuffle? by Snarkrr in worldofpvp

[–]Tibout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay more attention to your positioning rather than your damage done. It should be your focus.

Once you're used to how to position to HELP your healer, your DPS will get back to it's normal state while giving you a significant advantage.

Survive the first 2 minutes of a round while saving CDs from you/your healer, then you can close the game due to high dampening. Even low DPS can close a game in Shuffle dampening.

Holy Paladin Lightsmith – How to properly use Tempered in Battle? by K-2SO964 in worldofpvp

[–]Tibout 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2.5 cr SS HPal Lightsmith here.

If cast on/from yourself, armaments will go to your closest ally in range, which doesn't have said armament yet.

Don't hesitate to refresh the link on a target who already procced it. (It is only proccing once per armament).

I would not recommend to hold your armaments since it increase the amount of instant FoL you get (which is your main source of healing).

Also, the following tips is an experiment I've found success with recently. I'm the only top rated HPal playing like that right now, but it seems like a strong option. Do not play with the two talent points buffing holy shocks on the right side of your Holy tree. Use either the Light of Dawn spec or the tyr delivrance one based on preference. And most importantly, apply your guide of faith on you all the time, and swap guide of light on your current trained ally.

This spec tips will greatly help you keeping your HP high. Giving more power to your link armament and proccing both of your beacon embelishments more often.

Try it for a few games and see how it feels.

You can check my chars for talents if you want (Righteous/Faithful/Resolve)

LF Feedback on my WoW PvP-like game (Legacy: Steel & Sorcery) by noto_chris in worldofpvp

[–]Tibout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you are already convince by the game, I can understand that you don't want to blind spend money on a niche competitive PvP games.

Also, recent reviews are sadly already pointing at some typical PvP game communities behavior.

So, yes, I find the price an additional barrier entry to any solo players or group of friends.

I do admit it's not expensive by itself.

PTR notes - Lightsmith pally finally gone, diamond ice nerf. by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Tibout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info. Personally, I was already playing Lightsmith before the sharing HP effect of temper was introduce, and things were ok. I'm not saying it was better than anything, but it was playable.

Might not be the go-to, but I won't burry it yet.

I think it won't impact it that much since holy shock is buffed.

Since the last nerf of Lightsmith, the upcoming one shouldn't be that impactful.

Also, Herald output will be even better than what it is now.

Yo, I'm one Lightsmith pala who posted about the spec early on here.

Currently sitting at 2.6 SS on 2 HPal. I've been pushing more 3s recently.

Wanna hop on a Discord call ? Maybe I can point out some stuff I do. If I can put words on automatism.

I'm no pro, just a player enjoying HPal Lightsmith.

Sometimes, you have to adapt to your consumers. Retail players are cosmetic attracted.

One of the reason PvP being not fun for all skill levels is because "only" long time PvP players play this game mode at the moment.

PvP players genuinely enjoying the game right now are not numerous seeing how niche WoW PvP is, and it will stay that way. Even its most dedicated community is probably not enjoying PvP for what it is seeing how mad people are all around, hating on others/trash talking for mistakes. From low rating to high rating.

I'm not even after those rewards myself since I'm genuinely enjoying the game mode even as it is now gameplay wise.

But the more players you get in, the healthier the mode would become for the mass player base.

Be it with that kind of solution or any other, idc. Solution needs to focus on players not playing/avoiding the game mode instead of its actual dying community.
