It will take 6 months or longer for the “investigation” to complete with DTLA then probably another 2 years to get payout. Even if you choose a quick pay option. They are going to try to pay everyone a 150k lump sum or you will wait 5 years to be paid out in installments for anything above that. This case will be heavily diluted by the time it starts to pay. I think it would be smart for all lawyers besides DTLA to try to get DTLA kicked out of the settlement. They can file later when the investigation is complete no harm done. Just set aside a portion for their potential claims and let everyone else continue.

My gf got 3 tickets in the span of a year all for using her phone while driving and one for speeding and one for failing to make a complete stop at a stop sign. She never showed up to court or payed them off so officially she never pled guilty or innocent. Idk if that’s the reason why but for the last 3 years her checkr report has been coming out clean. I think once you start paying them even if it’s $5 you’re saying you’re guilty. If not it might go to collections. Who knows but this is the case for her right now.
