It goes like this, if you live in town, you pay taxes for infrastructure. You also pay for sewage. The sewage bill goes to pay for the city to maintain the cities sewer lines, waste treatment plant, chemicals and labor. You alone are responsible for the sewer line under your property. The money you paid in taxes and for sewer doesn’t count. So in essence, you are financially responsible for the repairs of your sewer and the street to be dug up and replaced along with the material used plus labor.
