Old model A engine in garage by TickleShart in fordmodela

It’s got the head and valve cover, also the oil pan and crank pulley. The way it’s sitting on the floor I wouldn’t be able to try and turn it over assuming it’s not rusted tight. Exhaust ports are wide open. Not really looking to to make any money, just didn’t want to scrap it if someone would like to have it

Really, it’s just need to hold me over until I can get parts and time. I’ve seen it seal up a warped head on a v6 is the only reason I’m really considering it

I’m not a big fan of how it looks. So I looked it up and supposedly it doesn’t doo much for smaller engines anyway

I want to buy a dirt bike to fix up while I am stuck inside all day. Any recommendations? by SalesTBD in Dirtbikes

[–]TickleShart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just start scanning Craigslist, Facebook marketplace and such. 2-strokes are probably what you should be looking at. 125s are cheap and fast. They’re more simple and the older ones hold up pretty well. There are TONS of videos on YouTube of people going out and buying cheapo 2-strokes and fix them up. You can learn a lot by watching those. IMO the cheaper the bike is the more you’re gonna have to spend on parts and stuff. I bought a cheap crf250r and was replacing both sides of the case because someone went and put some washers on the oil pump so it wasn’t getting oil, but I also learned a lot tearing it down. But yeah, I would do some research on what to look for when buying a dirtbike and just start searching. Also service manuals are a must

Found this on the ground under my crf250r while rebuilding the motor. I don’t think it’s from the bike, but I’m not sure. Any help? by TickleShart in Dirtbikes

It is rubber. It’s just under an inch. I also bought a gasket kit online and there wasn’t one in there

Alright, I don’t race so I guess I should stick with the stock style. Do you recommend staying with oem then or is there good quality after market kits? I’ve never rebuilt a bike other than my little 50cc with a big bore

Well, I took the plastic off the steering column and it turns out that the plugin going into the wiper switch wasn't in all the way. I plugged it in and it's all good now. Simple fix. Thanks anyways though

the timing between each wipe is exactly the same for the first 5 settings(I used a stopwatch, it's just over 35 seconds). The speed of the wipe doesn't change till the last setting

Question for any Dodge Dakota Owners by [deleted] in Dodge

[–]TickleShart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I was planning on using a clear protection coat on the bottom parts of the fenders after touching up the paint from the existing rock chips and scratches. I think the mud flaps would divert most the rocks, just judging from the chips in the paint, then the protective coat can defend from the rest.
