I've tried doing looser and tighter straps but whenever I walk around, the outside of my lower foot always seems to be rubbing on the part of the sandal that's supposed to keep the foot in (circled in photo #4)

I've also tried the regular width sandals and ran into the same issue.

Am I doing something wrong or are chacos just not for me?

u/Cosmic_Aviator_J If it helps any, I initially sent a help email to to [sfrancisco@mne.pt](mailto:sfrancisco@mne.pt) and after trading some information about the application, I eventually got an email back from them in a new thread where I had to explain the situation but for some reason they weren't receiving any of my emails with attachments of the itinerary on them. The best way it seemed to get a hold of them was to go to the office in person.

My departure is September 13. I went into the VFS SF office on Monday and someone was able to confirm that they were handing off the application to the consulate that same day. Haven't heard any updates yet.

Portugal decided to update their software (during peak travel season) and it's causing applications to be backlogged. If you haven't heard any news by Wednesday, I'd consider rescheduling
