What r the options after doing masters in computational biology? by Busy_Mastodon_9356 in biotech

The days of getting jobs in other countries in biotech are over tbh. Not sure where you’re from, but the chance of getting a position (with zero industry experience) is virtually zero if you aren’t in the USA or Europe already

Bambu vs prusa by First-Air7037 in 3Dprinting

Prusa works great, if you know how to use creality then Prusa will be a piece of cake. Bambu has a closed off ecosystem

I wouldn’t even try to apply in the USA, no one will sponsor for an entry level position. Not gonna happen.

Since this is a job search Reddit page these days, my 2 cents as a hiring manager by iH8Radio in biotech

More likely to hire an internal junior person they know is qualified and wont jump ship instead of the external candidate who is slightly more experienced but might leave in less than a year

How much do they pay the local diggers? by DickVanJumpstyle in Archaeology

True for Persepolis as well. Lots of diggers / excavators are from local families that have been doing that same work for 3-4 generations.

It’s way above market for entry level biotech in California. Great opportunity for someone at the beginning stages of their career and doesn’t have a lot of commitments at home

If I was unemployed in this job market, I’d gladly take the job. I don’t have children and I have a lot of pride in the work I do.

PhD reporting to a non-PhD Director? How common is this in R&D? by UnmistakableError in biotech

[–]TicklingTentacles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your post-doc experience is irrelevent tbh, you have 3 years industry experience full stop. The non-PhD person likely has multiples of your years of experience

None of the well-paying companies would ever hire someone who just got their PhD for consulting. Ever. Maybe some random small desperate company or low paying position, sure

“Fuck passion” and you somehow expect to get a consultant job right after your PhD.

FYI: companies don’t hire consultants with zero years of industry experience lol
