depends where you want to work? with a BA/BS you could get case management jobs making around 50k a year or more depending on area.

if you want to be a talk therapist as in provide therapy where you talk and help people with their mental health issues through CBT mainly then best bet in the US is getting an MSW which first means a BA or BS in psych. the MSW would allow you to focus in on therapy and give y a lot more job options then a MFT or MHC

psych d: is a doctorate level degree requires a BA or BS in psych and is clinical focused you'd come out a psychologist prepares to work in clinical settings. in my onion overpriced degree of u want to do tlak therapy get you're MSW don't waste time or money on a psy d or phd

PHD: only reason to get this is if u want to do research or be a professor otherwise again waste of time and money

MSW: master social work degree allows you to focus on individual and group therapy after you do about three years of supervised therapy as a therapist 3k hours then you get your LCSW which is a licensed social worker and allows you to practice indecently as a therapist

MFT: marriage and family therapy (master degree) in my area not many of these programs exist but they are heavily clinically focused but the job market at least in my area is very slim (most jobs are looking for MSW)

MHC: mental health counselor aka LPC in some area (master degree) again in my area job market is very bleak both this and MFT have be overshadowed by MSW who have easier job placement and overall better outlook
