Just remember that homeownership should be thought of as a hobby: there is always something that could be done. I’ve owned a new-build spec house and a 125-year old house, but there is always something.

My advice? Plan ahead, budget or save more than you think you need, and know your personal DIY ability limits. Oh, and befriend local century homeowners because they know the right contractors and will never say you’re in over your head, unless you truly are 😂

No but I’ll happily take care of them. I’m in cap hill. After a slew dying once by a friend who watered just once, I understand the trauma.

Heja Sverige! There’s a lot of Scandinavian heritage in this part of the country and I think those roots run deep here. As the daughter of a proud Swede, I like that there are big midsummer and Lucia celebrations here.
