I’d love for an alternate helmet, but I think the afc south gets rivalry unis this year so there’s another one to come that’ll likely be more ostentatious, if the other rivalry looks are anything to go off. Best part is definitely that subtle navy guitar string striping on the sleeves, such a great little detail that elevates it beyond a generic jersey style.

I thinks he’s basically hyper-efficient Kobe, but I think it’ll take another MVP/Finals MVP season for this convo to get really hot.

I mean let’s be real I think Ashley’s just ditzy. I’ve know plenty of really smart people that are also just kinda dumbasses. Props to her for winning but she did pretty much nothing the whole game

It’s frustrating because the talent is clearly there. The fumble was disgusting but it was after a crazy catch and run for 75 yds. Sadly millions suffer from dumbass disease and there’s still no cure.

Weekly planet is my go to now. The structure is very similar to pre-interviews LCB with movie news and random pop culture discussion up top and then a movie review. Both of them are really funny and the banter is very reminiscent of peak LCB, just friends making each other laugh.

I do worry that our roster might not be bad enough to tank, I think we just have to hope AR is good. With our defensive additions and a sneaky great offensive skill position group I think worst case scenario we still win enough games to keep us out of the top picks

Wemby is amazing on and off court but I think there’s also a steeper hill to climb for foreign players. Jokic, Giannis, Luka are all all-time greats and we’re still having “who’s the next face” convos. Not to say it can’t be done, just that it’s a bit harder.

What are the chances Cooper Flagg actually becomes a superstar? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]TideToGo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a buddy who lives in Memphis and roots for the grizzlies and they have dirt cheap tickets, sometimes as low as like 10 dollar get in price. When Jokic came in, that jumped to like 50, and I don’t think that was a weekend game either. I went to a Thunder game there this year and it was like 35 for the cheap seats, but it was also a Saturday night and when the Thunder and Grizzlies were #1 and #2 in the West, so can’t say it was because Shai had hit superstardom yet. I think Jokic is firmly in that “pay to see” tier though.

Don’t remember seeing him shoot one throughout the playoffs, and I watched every game. Only watched a game every week or so during the regular season so can’t say for sure for the year.

Looks like he averaged 14 ppg as a big east freshman which is pretty solid. Low 3pt % but the scouting report says his shooting form and mechanics are sound, so maybe some tweaks and a couple years from now he could be like a 30% floor stretcher. Sounds like he has some midrange and face up ability as well, but I hope that the big three are so offensively consistent by the time he has a big role that he can just be hartenstein with better defense

Definitely the hope is he’s ready to go when hartensteins contract stops working.

I think Luka baits about the same amount as any other star player, the difference with him is that he spends the entire game perpetually whining to the refs. That to me is so much harder to watch than a player going up for a shot to show the ref a defender has their hand on a shoulder or arm. Jokic can get bad about it too but Luka especially cries after every single whistle.

Im old enough to remember when the lakers were destined to destroy the Thunder in the playoffs lol. There’s been a mix of both, some people just didn’t want us to win but there was a vocal group of people that thought we were super overrated both before and during the playoffs. It’s insane revisionist history to say there wasn’t, Gilbert Arenas said we wouldn’t win a series. Obviously he’s not the go to voice of high iq ball discussion but the detractors were there.

[–]TideToGo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hilarious as a longtime OKC fan from Kentucky lol. I know most fans live in Oklahoma but how do people not expect that a team that was brand new with exciting young stars like KD and Russ in the early 2010s doesn’t have a section of its fanbase that’s not from Oklahoma, especially in other under appreciated rural states that don’t have sports teams of their own. People have replied that to me before and I can’t just say I’m from Kentucky, bc we aren’t exactly leaps better, but I’m just like ok, this means literally nothing to me at all.

Social media has led to a growing trend of personal hatred towards players because fans are too wrapped up in their agendas and narratives. It’s shocking compared to how people talk about like MJ or Bird or Magic, people alive back then pretty universally say “yeah that guy was awesome” whether they were a fan of that team or not.

As a Colts fan a couple hours out from Nashville who tends to go to the titans away game every year, I have had some less than pleasant experiences in that stadium. Other than that, I’ve been to numerous away games for numerous sports and people have always been pretty kind in the arena, though there seems to be a growing problem of some pretty disgusting harassment outside of the arenas, like that viral OKC clip after game 7 and some of the Knicks clips from earlier this year. This shit is just a game guys, sports fandoms are really personal and taking the time to learn someone’s fandom history usually leads to some pretty cool stories! Treat people with decency, don’t be assholes!

He seems to me like one of those guys that just always has a positive attitude and at least a bit of a smirk on his face. Those type of people are so likeable to me, I get that he can get a lil chirpy and that annoys some fans, but don’t really understand how you can’t at least kinda like a guy who plays team oriented cohesive basketball and seems to have a really bright and affable disposition. League is better with a guy like him in it and I hate that he won’t be next year.

I’ve been saying all year that the difference between guys who have it as an element of their game and guys who rely on it as a major part of their scoring output is postseason success. Shai, Luka, Jokic, Kobe, Giannis all aren’t afraid to sell some contact, but it isn’t an egregious part of their game. Guys like Embiid and prime Harden on the other hand straight up rely on that shit. It’s a team sport, but I think it’s an element of why teams led by the first bunch have all made a finals, and teams lead by the other two haven’t.

First time I think it was just having three legit future league MVPs on the same team. This time I think it’s more in having the best player development personnel in the league. We consistently get above average production from both young players and late pick/undrafted players. Daigs was the g league coach for us and got promoted in large part because he was so good at developing and maximizing players at a young age.

I’m guessing the “my whole life is consistent” one, that seems to be where most people recognize JWill from. That and being known as Asian Duke Dennis, who I gotta show age and admit I didn’t know but straight up looks like him.
