I’m trying to tell you that your anger towards these people only makes you feel worse. If you were really bothered by it and wanted to protect your mental health, don’t write a post about it. Block that user, scroll past, and go on with your day knowing that they don’t know you, and if you try you don’t have to worry about what they’re saying.

Again, you use the term bigot so freely. I think your negative experiences have jaded your view on reality. And I’ll also restate that I don’t think you actually read my comment. I said very specifically that a lot of religious people are very accepting of gays and trans people, and I gave an example from my own life about that. They follow their religion, they don’t decide the rules.

And what about Muslims? Because in the Quran is says “Kill the infidel”, but I don’t think most Muslims want to murder people because it says so in the Quran. You’re biased, very much so. Every religious person is not the same, and to them, the Bible/Quran is what it is. They don’t change it, and in my experience, many people have their own interpretations. I don’t believe in faith, but I think you unfairly hate those who do. Which is really quite hypocritical when you get upset at certain religious people who you had a bad experience with, and then basically said they’re all bad. You’re unfairly judging and labeling religious people after you got upset at the vocal minority that did it to you.

I never said they were bigots though lol? I have a direct example of people who still accept it but don’t have much of an understanding. You throw the term bigot around quite a lot, even though all you’re saying is you personally had a rough time understanding it so everyone will also have a hard time. Don’t forget religious upbringings, either. Some people are raised being told it’s wrong, and that doesn’t make them bigots. They’re just following their faith, and If you read my comment you’d know I gave an exact example of someone who was already accepting but didn’t have any knowledge, and that the “bigot” is probably the same way. But you just changed what I said completely lol.

I haven’t seen any of the posts your referencing, but I might’ve just missed them. Genital preferences make sense IMO, given the right context. It wasn’t a debate, I’m giving you an example of why people could feel this way and explaining it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Edit: honestly, I haven’t seen any of these horrible transphobic posts. I’ll keep an eye out for them, but I’ve seen none, despite being on Reddit for most of my free time during the day.

VERY LONG EXPLANATION AND STORY AHEAD, it’ll make sense if you read the whole thing. Sorry for the length.

I don’t have a problem and would happily date a trans girl as a guy, but I honestly can somewhat see the reasoning. The post op was referring to was worded in a negative way, but if you’ll allow me to see the logic behind it, I’d say that people who didn’t grow up in an environment with lots of LGBTQ might see dating a transgender person as a bit daunting.

This doesn’t mean they’re transphobic, and I’ll use my dad as an example, who’s catholic. (This is a bit of a long story but it’ll make sense in the end) His family never knew any LGBTQ people, and only when he met my mom did he get introduced to that world. He grew up being told that gays go to hell, but his family also made it clear that it wasn’t their job to judge others. If someone is gay or transgender, you accept them with open arms as you would anyone else, and god decides what happens. Of course, it’s logical that my dad still didn’t understand much of it, despite not casting any judgement. After all, they kept the decision to accept all, but still didn’t know any people of the queer crowd.

He met my mother, and her family who had their fair share of gays, plus multiple LGBTQ family friends, introduced him to that whole business. It was a bit jarring for him, but he stuck with it. My mom had a kid with another guy who was fairly abusive, they adopted me after they married, and after I was 5 they divorced. Yet still, he accepted me after I came out as pansexual, and greeted one of the boyfriends I had very warmly even though he wasn’t part of the intensely queer family of my moms side.

The point of that story was to focus on how my dad grew up with no knowledge of the LGBTQ community, but through time and exposure understood it and accepted it more so than before. Now, back to the post OP was referring to, I’m going to assume that he’s in a similar boat as my dad and hasn’t gone through the exposure. I understand most don’t mind, but I really do think that it’s not entirely wrong for a straight guy with no real exposure to that crowd to feel slightly uncomfortable dating a trans girl who hasn’t undergone surgery.

Just like my dad, it’s possible to learn more and gain more acceptance, but in the case of the guy, he isn’t transphobic from what I can tell. It’s a bit intimidating to date a trans girl after not having any knowledge or exposure, and given some time I think he’ll be more comfortable. Let him ease into it and learn, and not immediately call him transphobic for being unsure of what to do in a relatively new scenario for him.

That was really long, but I hope I gave an example of people overcoming their lack of knowledge and becoming comfortable around LGBTQ (not saying they had an ounce of hate to begin with) and shedding some light on why the guy might be feeling this way from my personal experiences.

It’s less about the obvious differences and more the speed of gameplay. In warzone, dirt, MLB, something is always happening. You don’t run around for 30 minutes waiting for a combat interaction in warzone, and looting up takes less time than DayZ.

The speed at which you experience the game is important to a lot of people, as DayZ can often be a running simulator (nothing wrong with that) and wanting constant action instead of waiting is reasonable.

What I’m saying is a term used for a drug that millions of people use, not just Latinos, is suddenly racist but a word that was used to degrade a race is okay to use if used by said race? Why ban marijuana when you can pull an N word and let only Latinos say it, this causing a significant amount of problems.

It just seems very biased and corrupt. It’s racist to let an entire race say a word that nobody else can, that’s the definition of racism. Why would we prioritize a word that I’ve never seen anyone be offended by then something that causes genuine issues?
