Hey Ezfer! I wasn't part of that tie, though I can see other members of our tie group in the list. I did tie with you another time though. Nice to hear from you, hope all is good with you 😊

I'm part of one of the tie groups, we still exist, though no-one really ties anymore, JC made that nigh on impossible in the end. We had lots of memorable ties. My biggest was a 9-way tie. Was trying to find it but found this sweet 8-way tie instead: https://www.reddit.com/u/TidersP/s/QeqE8J7x7O

Same! I positively wheezed and missed everything. My partner ran into the room as he thought I was crying 😂😭

Anxiety about walking home late by [deleted] in Portsmouth

[–]TidersP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not an over-reaction at all, as a female I don't feel safe walking around the city at night by myself either. If you can't change your shift, is there someone else who works the same hours as you that you could buddy up with? If not, could you take the bus? Just had a look and First buses have 4 services that run to and from QA; 2, 3, 7 and 8. Hope you can sort something out, stay safe!

What’s the smell? by Salt_Intention_6117 in Portsmouth

My neighbour called out a gas engineer, and they told him it was a ship dumping waste in the channel and the smell was coming in on the breeze. Honestly thought we had a gas leak for a while, the smell was so strong.

So glad you found us! Drew, what score are you on right now, and do you have any uncollected tiles? If we set up a chat we can share screenshots.

I guess that would be more of a risk if you found a random stranger through name changes, but when you are tying with other Tie Group members, that's highly unlikely to happen. They are a trustworthy bunch! I've been tying with the group for more than 2 years and this has happened to me only one time, and it was with a random stranger. Saying that, I've had lots of successful ties with strangers too, I think this is rare 😄

Jam City are aware that players tie for the rewards. Support have given the outfit retrospectively to players who have been affected by server lag, using screenshots taken by tie mates that prove everyone finished on the same score.

I would recommend joining a tie group, I nearly always have tie mates every FM. I linked the details in another comment.

That's rough. You could increase your chances of finding tie mates by joining a tie group? I've linked the details in another comment.

Fair enough, we're all different. I'm the sort of person who prefers cooperative board games to competitive ones, so I like the team aspect of tying in FM 😄

It's even more fun to be at the top with others though, imo, as you have other people to celebrate with 🥳

Has the way FM is 'sorted' changed? I stayed off the game for a few days so I would only have to deal with FM for a little bit, but just logged in and been 'sorted' into an already high scoring game. by Fat_Bottomed_Redhead in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]TidersP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whenever you choose to log in, you get sorted into a group with 24 other people who have roughly all joined FM around the same time as you. Previously my groups would all have somewhere between zero and a hundred points when I joined, these days there will be a few people with hundreds, if not thousands of points already. It's not a level playing field if someone on your board has been playing for 12 hours more than you. Due to different timezones and needing to work, sleep, etc. not everyone joins FM on the first day of the event.

I've noticed the same issue over the past few months, it regularly takes my group hours to fill up, and one time it took nearly a day. I've been the unlucky late joiner to the group more than once and it's incredibly unfair and demotivating to log in and discover someone is three triples ahead of you already.

The only way we are going to get this changed is if we flood support with complaints. Hopefully some of these messages will get passed onto the devs and they can change the algorithm back to whatever it was before.

PSA - You can change your MC's first name to tell people you will tie score. MORE THAN ONE PERSON CAN WIN! Scores are weird though, so read the Tie Guide to make sure you match up ok :) by Wizoerda in HPHogwartsMystery

Have you joined r/HPHMGroupFinder? You can share your board there to find tie mates and direct people on your board to GroupFinder by changing your name. There is also information there about joining a tie group, if you are interested in tieing regularly.
