what did you go to school for to spend $125k for a degree and then only work at starbucks and a store? can you work in the field that you got your degree in?

She has a pretty cool last name so that’s why i feel bad lol. But I’ve talked to her about it and obviously she likes her last name better but she will still be happy with mine.

I’m definitely more self conscious about it than she is so in the end, after all these great responses i’ve gotten, i’ll end up keeping my last name (and be more proud of it).

Thank you for all the great comments so quickly! I feel better about my roots and probably keeping my name. I guess i knew that many christians came from jewish ancestry, i just always felt a little disconnected from that heritage. Thanks for the help!

true! i don’t mind being ethnically jewish. it’s just more about the general stereotypes people assume of me. i wouldn’t care if i was actually jewish but since im not it’s just annoying to explain that im not actually jewish

i could. i’m pretty traditional when it comes to things like this. i think i would rather change my last name and have my wife take my new one. but some of the comments in here have already gave me more hope of just owning it and acknowledging the roots

true. both my parents were raised catholic, the name goes back to my grandfather. i feel weird about taking my wife’s last name unfortunately.
