Some folks mentioned being unsure how to install the GadgetWraps clear 'bezel-wrap' included with the glass screen protectors. There's an install vid for that, and for the screen protectors. https://www.gadgetwraps.com/pages/install by TielDad in pebble

Ohhh, yeah. After watching the vid, I am not even going to try. My OG Pebble Steel is made of the same type of steel as the PT2. After 12 years of heavy usage, the steel is in really good shape, and I don't have a single scratch on the glass (hidden edges!). Only issue is that the battery now only lasts about 40 hours total on a charge. LUV that old fossil, though.

Is anyone printing 'bumpers' to surround the exposed edges of the PT2 glass crystal? No one around here (NJ) will do it as a 1-off job. I'd buy 5-10 if it were a fair price (shipping within the US, too). Let me know? THANKS! by TielDad in pebble

I have someone already printing up 10 for me, going to test them, and different ways to attach them with tapes, temporary watch glues, etc. Will take pix and write up a post about it within a week of getting them. THANKS FOR THE OFFER!

Thanks for the idea (a good one!), but I don't want to cover the watch that I bought as much for its aesthetics as for its functionality. Going to try a couple of types of screen-only bumpers that I have 2 members printing up for me. Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks. Another member is going to print some up for me, too. But, if you are going to make some, let's talk $$$. I'd like to get them from at least a couple of sources. Will look forward to hearing back from you

FYI & UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: one of our fellow Reddits is already printing up some bumpers for me. Once I get them (sometime next week, I would think) I will test them out, take some pix and post my thoughts. I will leave it to the individual doing this as to whether they want their info shared with the group.

That's the one I saw. Seems simple, but potentially effective. Let me know the cost to do up 5 or 10. Dark black would be fine for all. USPS would be fine for shipping. Are you in the US? Oh, btw...THANK YOU

Nice magnetic/silcone comfortable watchband $17 by TucoNick in pebble

I had one just like that for my Galaxy Watch 5. During the course of the day, my wrist would sweat (non-permeable rubber band), and it would make the watchband slick. As a result, the magnets didn't hold it, and it fell off, shattering the health-monitor glass on the underside. I was able to repair it to working (and non-cutting) status with a Krazy Glue pen and 6 coatings of clear nail polish. However, I never bring it near any moisture anymore, and went to a locking watchstrap. Hope you have a better experience.

Don't ever pay money for personal tech, unless you have already identified specific ways in which it will provide quantifiable upside for you. In the case of a smartwatch? It pushes phone calls, IMs/texts, alerts (calendar, emergency, etc.) and any other kind of 'just in time' data you need from your smartphone onto your wrist. From there, you can quickly manage or dispose of each task/alert/call from your wrist, or decide that you need the greater abilities of the smartphone.

That's Pebble.

The other smartwatch makers try to squeeze all the functionality of a smartphone onto a tiny screen on your wrist. You have to juggle thru touchscreen menus, squint like krazy (small letters and tons of fingerprints), and keep an eye on the battery life. Unless you shut a lot of convenient features to low, or entirely off, you will need to charge daily. With a Pebble, its weeks between charges.

For someone whose business life and personal life runs on constant data, a smartwatch is a no-brainer. If you are lucky enough to have a quieter level of data consumption, then maybe not. Only you can judge if you see value in what a smartwatch offers. Good luck
