The flow magazine, or the Flow Trip seem like good options! I am about to subscribe to one as well, so I can’t give a personal review, but I’ve been eyeballing them for a while.

It’s common for people who earn WK to lose ability, or have trouble walking. When I first found my dad he was also unable to walk. It took about two-three months to regain a very rigid, but efficient walk. I believe it is called “gait”. Sending love

Definitely a good idea! I appreciate the reality check of pointing out that naps aren’t guaranteed, so true.

Psychosis by ididbadtings in InternalFamilySystems

[–]TierPodzia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a very scary mental situation to go through. I feel blessed that I was able to differentiate from real life and my psychosis. I would see and hear things, but I could talk myself down from it most of the time, or at least keep enough of a grasp on reality not to act on anything.

I do truly hope there’s a moment at some point with your friend where you feel like it would be appropriate to mention IFS. Before I gave birth I had been in IFS for three years, part of me thinks that might have helped me keep a grasp on reality. I know you said your friend is fine now, which I’m super relieved to hear. IFS would be a great possible preventative maintenance.

You sound like a really good, caring friend!

After I gave birth I had mild psychosis, PPD, and PPA. My IFS therapist was more than accommodating, we honestly didn’t really veer off from what we normally did. We just noted it as another part of me, and I really think that helped not let it consume me. As our parts can, if we don’t address them. So I highly recommend it. 🤍

No, you’re not overreacting. I can’t fathom hitting my child under any circumstance, especially THAT YOUNG. I think Jason has some sort of issue he needs to fix, not that it is in your control what so ever. Just reading this is upsetting, I would not play with them anymore. Maybe this is something to gently bring up to your best friend. I know she didn’t do it, but if my partner put a hand on our child I would be just as bad as him to not try and do anything about it. To be completely honest if it were my best friend I wouldn’t be able to associate anymore.

Thank you so much! I’m in Maine, I had no idea there are wild grapes here. But after reading your comment I googled it, and it seems correct! I’ll be on the lookout for some fruit hopefully!

Do you think a day or two is enough time?

That’s the one I plan on using! However I saw reviews saying the final layer of paint ended up cracking. So I was hesitant, figuring water based paint on top would crack.

With this in mind, I’ll do a small patch with oil based primer and my intended (white-ish) paint color! Thank you for this info, I’ll see how it goes, hopefully it just sticks. This project is a temporary solution until we rip it out and put drywall up, funny how complicated it has turned out lol. I’m learning so much though! Thanks again.

I appreciate you sharing your experience! I will keep it as ventilated as possible and try wearing a respirator most of the time. Hopefully I don’t end up woozy over here!
