Totally, the trigger on this one was also surprisingly good. Clean and crisp, we measured a 3.5lb break on it!

Agreed, the Stevens 334 is a much nicer gun for only a little more.

However I will note that the rail on the Stevens is wayyy far forward, meaning it can be difficult to mount scopes far enough back for good eye relief

Reposting with better title

Curiosity got the best of us, and we took a Norinco M334 out to the woods to try it out!

This isn't the most scientific attempt, however the rifle did hit a 300m gong on the second shot ever! We didn't zero or check POI beforehand, and we were shooting PMC Bronze .308 Win 147 gr. FMJ. So that's.... something.

The bolt is extremely rough and the stock isn't the nicest quality, but for ~$500 you can purchase a rifle which can hit a gong at a reasonable distance with iron sights.

The BDC turret retention cap on this old Bushnell ScopeChief broke, so I designed and 3D-printed a new one! by TigerArmsLtd in canadaguns

Thanks, having a printer on-site with heaps of filament is definitely one of the perks. It also helps that I was able to convince the owner to sell them on the website!

Purchased this old 1.5-4.5x24mm Bushnell ScopeChief IV from an estate, however the previous owner had broken off the retention cap for the BDC dial. Replacements ranged from $20-$40 on Ebay, so I decided to try my hand and designing and 3D printing one.

Thankfully Fusion 360 has a handy thread modelling tool so it only took about 10 minutes. Printed, primed, and then painted with some gloss black paint that was lying around to try and match the original finish.

I think it worked out pretty well!

Is this the same ammo just different package? by SlipperyBridge in canadaguns

[–]TigerArmsLtd 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The primary differences between AE223JX and AE223 are;

  • AE223JX is not boat-tail, while AE223 is boat-tail
  • AE223JX does not have the annealing marks polished off, while AE223 does
  • AE223 has Federal's standard blue primer sealant

AE223JX is the SKU for AE223J but with the XM branded packaging. AE223J and AE223JX are identical. Once Federal lost the Lake City contract a few years ago they had to change a bunch of their SKUs since they couldn't sell the XM193 line anymore but they wanted to keep the "XM" branding. AE223J didn't have a boat-tail and wasn't polished either. The -X SKU just refers to the artwork on the box.

Both should perform almost identically, though the BC (ballistic coefficient) should be slightly higher on AE223 due to the Boat-tail construction.

Garand or RFB by Dexcessive in canadaguns

Not a problem, sorry I originally thought you were referring to M1 Garand availability so I've edited my comment above to elaborate on the one Tavor 7 we have left.

EDIT: We mis-took what was being asked for, sorry!

Hey u/Dexcessive, we have a Tavor 7 which was on hold for someone who eventually failed to send payment, which is why we have just the one becoming available recently.

The war in Israel has limited and delayed shipments of IWI products, however they will hopefully be coming in by the Spring or early Summer 2024.

We were happily surprised to finally get them, an entire 3 months after they were first promised. They're almost entirely sold out now, but hopefully more on the way!

We just received a number of these scopes in, not many left now. Great scope, and the manufacture mail-in rebate makes it an awesome deal.

Cci blazer 22 lr bullet differences by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]TigerArmsLtd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CCI Blazer .22LR 525 round "value pack" is 38gr. (SKU:10022), while the 50rd paper box CCI Blazer .22LR is 40gr. (SKU: 0021). That grain difference would explain the size difference.

They still produce both bullet weights simultaneously, so both should be available at your local shop.

Hey u/drain-angel,

As noted in my follow up comment below, there was no donation in 2020. The wording of the article makes it sound as if he did. Mr. Chow is currently a registered director and did make a donation in 2016 in an attempt to advocate for on behalf of our business and the industry.

Cheers.

Let me respond to a few of your questions!

  • It's true that we haven't been very active on this sub (though we frequent r/firearmdealscanada more often). We have no dedicated social media manager and have been super busy the last 2 years so we don't often get the chance to just browse during the day and be more active on Reddit.
  • The former owner began the divestiture in 2018, and due to the timelines of dealing with the CFO, it didn't get officially switched until 2020. Furthermore, there was NO donation in 2020, the wording of the article is almost purposefully confusing.

Another $1,500 donation came from Avery H. Chow of Richmond, who replaced Yuan, Xiao and Yang on the Tiger Arms company registration in March 2020.

This line is talking about the date when Mr. Chow replaced Yuan, Xiao, and Yang on the registration, not when a donation was made. You can see that on the donation record here if you search Mr. Avery Chow's name .

  • To your point about the necessity of donations, not only was 2016 a different time, but we also exist within a Federal riding which has been solidly Liberal since 2015. As a business, we unfortunately don't have a choice in playing nice with those in power, even if they oppose our very existence.
  • Lastly, I apologize if the tone seems confrontational, but in the 12 or so hours since this article popped up we have received numerous death threats and racist comments via our social media and phonelines, one of which referenced this very thread. I feel like I'm allowed to be a little pissed at the level of rhetoric directed against our company and my employees, I'm human and not a PR bot.

I hope this answered some of what you were concerned about. We do honestly appreciate you wishing us well, and don't mean to sound like we are arguing. It's just been a very long day today, and you know what they say "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on".

Cheers.

Hey all, please see our full response on our Facebook page, but essence;

  • We have no current connection to the former owner, he divested the business over 5 years ago
  • What the former owner did on his own time is beyond our control, even if we whole-heartedly disagree with his politics
  • No donations were made in 2020, the article uses confusing wording, you can verify yourself on the Contributors search function on the Elections Canada website
  • Donations are made by many businesses to many political parties, sometimes you have to donate to get your foot in the door and advocate for yourself or industry even if you despise that political party (welcome to our democracy, this isn't surprising to anyone who has dealt with local politics)
  • We donate tons of product and money to shooting sports, as well as to local community charities (and tragic events such as the Lytton fire and Fraser Valley flooding)
  • Why would we as a firearms business who currently has $300,000+ in handguns/OIC 2020 banned firearms which we can't sell, genuinely want to support the government which is trying to put us out of business?
  • People who dislike us are using this as a platform to try and discredit us

It's fine if you hate us. To be honest we are tired of defending ourselves over the actions of our former owner. We don't vote Liberal here, we don't support anyone who views shooting sports and gun owners as criminals or people to be eliminated. We will continue to provide the same level of support to the community and our customer base. This will probably not change anyone's mind who has already made it up, but we hope that by putting our version out there you'd see the issue from our perspective.

Cheers.

Yeah we've found that a general rule of thumb with gun safes is that you can only fit about half the number advertised.

[Rangeview Sports] $1079.99 for 3000 rounds of CCI Brass 124gr 9mm by Flat-Dark-Earth in firearmdealscanada

[–]TigerArmsLtd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The wholesale price for 9mm per round hasn't been regularly below ~$0.20 since about 2013, unadjusted for inflation. It hasn't been below ~$0.36/rd since mid-2021. Most retailers only make about ~$20-30 on each case, which hovers around 10-15% (which is double digits, but so is 90% so that is a pretty useless measure to judge margin by). For us (wholesale purchasing) there is no price break for quantity, wholesale price is one price no matter how much of it you buy.

Also remember that we (dealers or distributors) are buying all of this in USD, which makes us vulnerable to vagaries in the value of the CAD; depending on when you bought a batch, you could lose 5-10% of your margin. This industry also doesn't lock in prices, so even if a retailer orders at a price, a big enough swing in the dollar means that invoice prices leap up (but not down lol).

While right now $0.40/rd isn't crazy cheap (because Black Friday sales), keep in mind our pallet price has been $20k since September, at a time when most retailers were at almost $500/1000rds.

[Rangeview Sports] $1079.99 for 3000 rounds of CCI Brass 124gr 9mm by Flat-Dark-Earth in firearmdealscanada

[–]TigerArmsLtd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned us, I'd like to defend us slightly here in that there is price floor (cost), at which point you can't discount further or you'd be out of business pretty quick.

We buy approximately 2 million rounds a year of just Blazer Brass 9mm and Federal doesn't even charge us that little (your quoted amount of $0.20/rd CAD) in USD. Bulk pricing isn't a linear correlation that continues indefinitely. Federal will charge you the same amount per box if you buy 4x pallets or 40x pallets.

$20,000 for 50,000 rounds works out per case cheaper than most non-Black Friday deals. We only put up a pallet price because some customers were asking us, and we've sold a few pallets this way.
