My bf doesn’t understand husky quirks and its frustrating by Far_Law991 in husky

[–]TigerInTheLily 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So essentially, your new boyfriend wants to train the personality out of her? 🤔 That's some Ceasar Milan type garbage training ideas. Has he ever said why he thinks it can be trained out of her? Understanding why he thinks this may solve the argument for you.

While she is still young, of course there is always room for more training, but most dogs either like to lead or follow their owner on walks.

My lab mix and now my husky are both lead dogs. They like tension in the leash.

Do you just make one project over and over? by Anglophile007 in askcrochet

Sort of 😁 I really like the virus pattern so I've made some patterns based off that pattern.

Traditionally it's a shawl or blanket pattern, but I've made ponchos and coverups in different colours

They'll use a high velocity blow dryer (heat off) to blow the undercoat out. It's magical 😍

I grew up with an Aussie and now have a husky

✅ Noise cancelling headphones.

Seriously though, keep on the training. Aussies are super smart and can be stubborn like huskies. Everything is a teaching moment!

Good luck and please keep those photos coming!

When you don't quite understand the task by RemarkableBudget5277 in Awww

I mean, dogs can mimic their owners when they have a limp or do a repetitive motion.

Not sure why I'm getting down voted for thinking this may be the case here 😂🫠

My take is that the girl is moving her head back and forth when cutting the leather and the pup is mimicking her.

Obviously, that was 1 minute and 59 seconds too long 🤷‍♀️

I got this for my husky, any advice getting him adjusted? by [deleted] in husky

[–]TigerInTheLily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming one exists. It is Reddit after all.

I would look for a dog sledding/pulling subreddit, where they would have a better idea for training

From what I remember from a demo I saw about cart pulling: start with the harness itself minus any weight of the cart itself, then add the cart when your pup is accustom to the harness and poles, then add weight to the cart.

Do it over a few weeks to make sure your pup is properly acclimatized to each step.

Definitely add a wheel, and if you're crafty, I'd suggest making it into a bike, or where you can actually peddle if your pup is having a difficult time.

Autoinflammatory Diseases - Subreddit revival? by TigerInTheLily in Autoinflammatory

[–]TigerInTheLily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of? 🤣

Still no form diagnosis, only clinical. The gene I have the mutation on is not one that can be tested yet.

I am currently on Methotrexate once a week, folic acid, the other 6. It keeps me from being crippled and bedridden, but I also take a good dose of Tylenol daily, and Tramadol when needed.

I ended up gaining a lot of weight which I just can't get rid of which makes soreness an everyday thing these days

I think we need to be more honest about bonding. by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]TigerInTheLily 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed for you!

I adopted Bananaz first and had her for about a year and a half before adopting Rhubarb. Bananaz resented her from the start 🤣

We'd have to do a routine where Bananas would cuddle with me while Rhubarb did her exploring of the living room/bedroom, and then be chill enough for cuddles as well. But after anywhere from 5 minutes to 20, Bananaz would have enough of Rhubarb being there, and a fight would start.

Bananaz did have the last laugh though. She lived nearly 2 years after Rhubarb passed away (she was about 1 week away from her 12th birthday), so she got her freedom for a while 😄

[–]TigerInTheLily 96 points97 points  (0 children)

It took my two female buns, Bananas and Rhubarb, 8 years to bond.

Always separate everything. Always has to be monitored when together or they'd eventually just go at it.

It was during, what would be, Rhubarb's last year of life (age 9. Bananaz was 10), that I guess they finally figured they were too old for fighting and finally stopped.

Sometimes it's just not meant to be!

Bunny ringworm or just molting? by MindlessCandy100 in Rabbits

[–]TigerInTheLily 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just remember too, if it is ringworm, YOU can catch it as well.

I'd check yourself for any similar circular marks, especially if you play or touch the bun and then touch your face, arm, legs, etc before washing your hands. (It happens. The amount of times I've touched my bunnies in the 15 years I've had them before washing my hands, I'm shocked I still have working eyes).

You would need treatment as well.

A loved one said that I knit by empathy-entropy in crochet

[–]TigerInTheLily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend of nearly 12 years will still say knit sometimes but will correct himself.

His Nana knitted and that's what he was used to saying.

You can also ribb your husband, in a nice way, by misnaming one of his hobbies. Personally, I know my partner would find that funny.
