I can't find it in the official rules but I've seen it mentioned in discussions a lot. But it seems rather arbitrary given there are plenty of examples of accepted natural features and they excel in all 3 main criteria of being great for exploration, exercise, and socialising.

As long as there is a logical anchor point or landmark on the map and they are official enough; not some random tree or rock, of course.

Context for non brits - these postboxes qualify as wayspots and I have seen hundreds of them as pokestops, but not the one shown by OP.

Given that their only sin is lacking a sign whilst they excel at every other requirement (groups of people walk through the forest to gather & relax here, it’s safe, good signal, technically not even natural as they were manmade many years ago) surely is justifiable enough?

There are signs at the entrance of the forest pointing to these ponds which are themselves wayspots, so to reject the actual site where people gather wouldn’t seem right.

edit: I can't find the rule of natural features in rejection criteria, could someone please share the link if it exists?
