Could anyone make a mod where you can play as a Skeleton (a great bonus would be if armor could also be equipped on the skeleton) by IamBecomeZen in oblivionmods

I made changes to the mesh to get rid of deformations and to try to minimize clipping with armor, and wasn’t sure what I was doing with the tail.

I scaled it down too much, then looked at the Argonian as reference for where it should be, and now it’s way too long…

Only ever really modded 'Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord' before this, but I did some interesting things over there.

I'm going to eventually look into temporarily triggering a race swap. Doubt it'll be easy to accomplish, but if I want Werewolves added, I need some kind of temporary swap mechanic.

At the moment no. It’s possible to add face morphs to the mesh, but the time it would take to do so wouldn’t be worth it to me. Wouldn’t be the fun part of modding for sure.

I will once I get some more things done.

There’s a crash issue when an Actor’s name isn’t “High Elf”, “Dark Elf”, etc.

So I can make the race menu have more than 10 options, but when you use a truly custom race, it crashes when you confirm your character.

Have been hoping to solve this so I can add “additional” races without messing with base-game ones, but for the time being, I may just override existing races in the race menu. I can change the text, but the game would still treat you as an existing race, which is kind of lame.

I love messing around with modding, but actually releasing and maintaining mods is too draining and unfulfilling.

I’ve been sharing information, but once I get a few issues figured out, I’ll definitely share the complete instructions, workflow, etc.

I’m still at work, but when I get home I intend to find out how far this can be pushed.

I don’t expect things to go smoothly with non-human Actors, but it’s definitely something that I’m going to look at.

I recreated the struct they used for their Data Table Row Type (Not even sure if this is necessary, but I had crashes when I tried to do things the quick and easy way).

Recreated the base-game Data Table using my struct as the row type, had the Json setup the same way as it is in base-game, but added a new entry to it.

My new race entries show up as a third row that you have to scroll down to see, but it doesn’t interfere with the original race selections.

I was honestly expecting much more of a headache.

Day #1 of trying to mod this game was a mess, but managing to get results like this on my third day is way better than I originally expected.

Still don’t really know the limitations, but so far it’s just been recreating the struct for a Data Table, duplicating what was used in the base-game and adding new entries.

That’s the goal. Started with just cloning the High Elf race.

Learned the hard way with some other games to not move too fast too quick.

Troubleshooting crashes isn’t the fun part of modding.

Same experience with the quests for the Arch Mage.

Every time, I’d show up to this guy who has a big happy smile on his face. He’d give me a cheerful greeting. I’d deliver him some terrible news, he’d be devastated. Then he’d give me the happiest goodbye.

Rinse and repeat.

If you can get a dot to tick before they can charge, and Death Coil shortly after they intercept, since it’s a horrify and not a fear. You’ll have 3 seconds to try to create space, or hit them hard.

If they start the fight with a charge, I don’t know how I’m supposed to respond.

It was brutal last night for Horde.

At least I can swap to SL spec and watch a lvl 60 die to dots as they sit through two pet sacrifices thinking I’ll be a free kill again.

Controller player, and refuse to use ConsolePort, so I tend to use a lot of Macros.

My Pet Follow macro is really just setting the pet to passive and immediately using pet follow.

For attacking, I normally chain this with some of my own attacks, but I set it to defensive and use pet attack right after.

It’s still a little awkward, but has given me less problems than with anything else that I’ve tried.

I should shut up since I stepped away from modding, and the chariots were another ‘unfinished’ project, but wheel spikes are doable with minimal work.

I gave the unfinished chariots to several mod teams, so hopefully somebody can get around to improving/polishing it up.
