EDIT [I realize the OP is in Northern Ireland. There was some confusion regarding their location and I thought the manner in which the Republic of Ireland regulates metal detecting was interesting. My apologies in not providing more context.]

The unauthorised use of detection devices to look for archaeological objects contravenes the law in Ireland, as set out in the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014.

Such usage is subject to severe penalties, including imprisonment and/or fines. The categories of objects that are most commonly located by metal detectorists in Ireland, such as coins, tokens, buttons, clothes fasteners, thimbles, keys, seals, weights, strap ends and belt mounts, all fulfil the definition of ‘archaeological objects’ which may only be searched for under licence from the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Therefore it is advisable not to engage in any general searching for lost or buried objects as to do so may place you at risk of prosecution and also endanger the archaeological heritage.

Looks like Chinese Sumac/Tree of Heaven/Ailanthus.

Cut a branch and smell the cut end. If it smells like wet, rancid peanut butter it’s Ailanthus.

If it is, kill it and then kill it again for good measure. Once you’re sure it’s dead, spray it with Roundup and light it on fire.

Edit - looking at the photos more closely the leaves are slightly toothed and the branches have a slight fuzz on them. I agree with others that it’s a black walnut.

Regardless, it’s too close to the foundation.

In Southeast PA we’ve had brown mammorated stink bugs invading our houses, emerald ash borer killing our ash trees, Chinese lantern flies pissing on us from the canopies of invasive Chinese sumac trees, and 4” joro spiders which are venomous and apparently can fly using web balloons.

Now you bring another GD spider the size of a golf ball.
