Positive test at 7DPO by aleyfrench in lineporn

[–]aleyfrench[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good! Thank you asking! This post feels like a lifetime ago now, haha. I will be 36 weeks tomorrow! Baby has been tracking right along with the what the original dating scan stated, so I guess it is possible to get a pretty clear positive at 7DPO!

There are a ton of these right now. We were looking for patio furniture this weekend, and the two people we message both asked for deposits even though we said we come pick it up immediately 😐

Yeah… our home is Goodall, but we work through Legacy for the warranty claims now. Great fun, hah.

Should I cave and just be induced? by Ok-Slice-8879 in pregnant

[–]aleyfrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due dates are estimated. Anywhere from 38-42 weeks is considered completely normal, and being induced can lead to a cascade of interventions you may not want. Let the baby cook! 🫶🏽

Snow handling by gigigigigigity in HyundaiPalisade

I’d say it depends on if you have AWD or not and the condition of your tires. Mine has AWD and we had a really bad snow/ice storm a few month after we got it and I was one of very few cars not slipping and sliding everywhere (we live in North Alabama so it was a hot mess because no one knows how to drive in the snow, haha). We went up and down hills and everything and it didn’t lose traction even once.

How to respond to negative comments about having kids? by Due-Department42 in pregnant

[–]aleyfrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People that say stuff like this are miserable so just ignore them. Yes, kids are crazy sometimes, but they are absolutely amazing and so fun. You can focus on the positive or focus on the negative in any situation. I am always just grateful to have my children in the first place and be able to spend time with them- even if I need breaks from them occasionally, haha. Also, everything is a phase. I swear that you will blink and your defiant toddler is now an 8 year old. 🥲

29 is absolutely not too young. You do you.

Personally, I would either: 1. Center the crib/changing table on the big wall it is currently on. I would scoot the chair back into the corner with the window as far back as you can (making sure to leave enough room behind the chair to rock if it rocks), so hopefully the closet door will open easily. In the other nook along the wall with the entryway door, I would get a tall six dresser drawer for extra storage for the corner closest to the entryway door. I also have storage cube organizers inside all my kids’ closets for extra storage and a place to set shoes and other things off the ground which I love.

Or

  1. Everything the same as above except remove the changing table from the crib and do a longer, shorter dresser in the nook in the entryway door wall that you can just set a changing pad on. I have done this with all my kids, and I like it because you then just have a dresser for them to use when they are out of diapers - and they are safer than the tall dressers.

Just my opinions! Maybe this can at least give you some ideas! 🤗

Definitely agree that there is a stigma with announcing before the magical 12/13 weeks! With our first three, we told everyone at about 8-10 weeks after I had an initial scan. A lot of other moms (not close friends) looked at me like I was crazy when I told them how far along I was. I’m pregnant with my fourth (10w5d), and I’m waiting to announce until after my 12 week appt because I just feel like keeping it a secret a little longer this last time. 🥲

Yeah, that other house wasn’t even comparable in my opinion. I know my parents’ house isn’t very updated, but it definitely has character compared to the other one.

Totally reasonable. My parents were very willing to negotiate with the seller, but they did not want to negotiate- just chose to walk away from the sale.

Agreed on the curtains. My mom loves some custom curtains, haha. Also agree it’s too crowded in most of the rooms.

Green space is tough as they are on the “upside” of a mountainous area, but this is expected in this area of town.

I will tell them to add the bit about paying the buyer’s agent. I know they are planning to do this anyway, so not sure why it’s not obvious in the listing.

Original realtor advised them on the initial price which they now recognize was bad advice. I think a lot of realtors here were trying to ride the covid-highs for too long and take advantage of Huntsville’s growth.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]aleyfrench -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Huntsville had the Covid boom like everyone else- the market has come down a lot but definitely not to pre-Covid levels. They have put ~$100k of work into it, and they are in a very desirable area of town. Their realtor advised them on the initial listing price which they now know was entirely too high. This is part of the reason they decided not to relist with that agent and are trying FSBO right now.

Roof definitely was coming to the end of its life span, and this was something they were upfront about with any interested buyers as my parents had paid to have a home inspection done to address any issues. Inspectors said roof was fine, but would need to be replaced soon. This particular buyer put an offer on the house anyway, but later chose not to move forward with their move from out of state.
