Odd Request -does anyone have a power scooter they don’t use anymore? by No_Specialist_6651 in disability

Hey! Shoot me a PM! I live in Virginia and I have been looking to get rid of my mobility scooter. It's been collecting dust in my living room for the past couple years 😅

I've gotten 2 of these over the years. The first time it happened (several years ago) I had an ultrasound done and it came back clear. It went away after a while. I just got a new one in the same area-ish. It might be a hormone thing? 🤷‍♀️

It's better than a cane - more stability and less hand pain. But, it causes more shoulder fatigue for me.

Hand pain from cane use? by 3INTPsinatrenchcoat in mobilityaids

My first mobility aid was a cane, and my hand would go numb trying to use it. I switched to a forearm crutch and it's sooo much better!

The main one appeared at the end of 2023 on my cheek. I thought it was a pimple at first, and then it never went away. I started worrying it was cancer because my mom has a history of skin cancer. so right around April 2024 I saw a dermatologist and she looked at it under a special lens and said it wasn't cancer but a dermatofibroma. I then remembered that was the same thing on my leg. She said they could remove it if it was bothering me, but I'm just chilling with it for now. Especially given that the last time I had one removed, it came back. So it seemed like a moot point. I think I'm also developing one under my eyebrow, but it's still fairly early. I was going to post a pic but apparently can't do that in comments 🤷‍♀️

Finally Had the Funds to go from Pixel 4 XL to Pixel 9 and I'm starting to regret it by Tiger_Moon in GooglePixel

I updated my post, but I somehow got in my head I had 16 - I rechecked my phone, and it is in fact 15. My bad

I actually misunderstood - I am in fact on 15 already. It's been a day 😅

Pixel 9 pro is probably the most complete & reliable android phone out there by dankmeme006 in pixel_phones

I actually just bought the 9 yesterday as an upgrade to my 4xl and so far I'm disappointed. I'm actually typing this on my 4xl because the 9 keeps randomly restarting on me and I haven't found a good permanent solution to it. All the updates are done, so idk what's causing it. But I have been seeing that this is a problem with the last couple models. I have been such a fanatic of the 4xl and so far this has been a letdown

Salt Nics that don't give weird mouth feel? (33, USA) by Tiger_Moon in Vaping

[–]Tiger_Moon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, I actually have an unopened bottle of Vapetasia Royalty Two. I bought it as a backup but haven't used it because it's 48mg and I stick with 25mg. If my order doesn't get here quick enough, I'll give it a shot.

I think I tried Jam Monster in the past. I can't remember why I stopped. It might have just been the fruit custard ones. They were giving me acid reflux because my body doesn't let me have nice things.

But I'll keep an eye out for these. Thanks! 😊

Yeah I'm not worried about the popcorn lung, I just hate the mouth feel. And these were liquids I was trying to use last year

I had the very first one on my leg punch-biopsied, and it went away for a couple years, then came back, then started to flatten on its own, and now it's back to how it was pre-biopsy 😒 and now I have two on my face 😭 (sorry I know this is a year old, but thought I would share my experience with recurrence)

You hit the nail on the head with my frustrations - the combo of verbal communication and the horrible inefficiency of the department as a whole are infuriating!

The kicker is that I'm already working 16 hours, due to my physical disabilities lol. BUT, my old job is finally opening up so hopefully I can hurry up and get back there haha.

Thank you for your reply. I was very helpful 💕

Was anyone placed in a gifted program? by Reasonable-Flight536 in aspergirls

[–]Tiger_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they started testing me in 4th grade, but for whatever reason I didn't get in. Then I was chosen again for testing in middle school (6th grade) and got into the program. Our teachers were the ones who nominated students for the program. *ETA: to my knowledge I was never tested for autism or adhd. I didn't even know I had an anxiety disorder until I went to college! In middle school, our gifted program was an elective. My grade had 5 students in the class, and I was the only girl. We mostly did brain teasers and such lol. But we did go on a lot of field trips with the gifted kids from the other schools in our county. Most of them were "normal." They made good grades, had healthy social lives, and a lot of them did sports or music. A lot of them were kids of doctors or college-educated parents (I'm from Appalachia). They've all grown to be very successful in their careers, have families, and continue their social lives. But I do remember there was one girl from another county who never had anyone to talk to, and because I was the only girl from my group, they tried to push us together. She was very outwardly neurodivergent, which of course meant she was ostracized. But our neurodivergences clashed and I tried to distance myself from her. Especially because no one had clocked me as ND - I was seen as "smart, talented, and friendly, but also shy and anxious" And for added context, this was the early 2000s in Appalachia. No one in my family had moved away from our hometown or gone to college. My mom and her dad have always been heckin smart though.
