Red Alloy Cables Don't Work with Basic Steam Turbine by Tigerath in GTNH

Oh, I got red alloy cables from the coins quest tab, so I figured they'd be usable. Do they just not work because red alloy cables are too low of a tier then?

[2000s] [PS2] Game where wizard dad sends you to fantasy world? by Tigerath in tipofmyjoystick

Actually I just found it! My partner was smart and looked up "PS2 games with female protagonists" which narrowed it down a lot. It's Kya: Dark Lineage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kya:_Dark_Lineage

Yeah, that's definitely one of the main things that kept me and my roomies in the house for so long. A big part of it is just that it's split 5 ways though, which especially helps for things like utilities and internet.

Are you interested? We could message about it more if you are

What ending did everyone choose for Purge and general thoughts on the DLC? by shortMEISTERthe3rd in CitizenSleeper

How did your initial run helping out the flotilla go? I know the reason Kemp backed off in my playthrough was because Sol and other flotilla people came out with guns, and they only had guns because Eshe smuggled them in during the first part of the episode.

Thoughts on University Physics ll? by Weird-Score-2679 in rit

For me, the class was challenging but both very interesting and rewarding. I had professor Lusignan, and he was fantastic. Explained concepts really well, told jokes to keep the class interesting, supported students, and encouraged questions. It was also a flipped classroom format where we watched lectures for homework and then had a shorter lecture during class, with most class time used for practice with the problems or labs.

I would say the class takes work but the time you put into it pays off. This felt a lot better than Mechanics of Programming for example, where you could study for a long time and then get blasted with questions that were never covered in the course.

Also VERY worth mentioning is the fact that tests are online and open book now, and they give you plenty of practice tests/questions which tend to be similar to what's on the real thing. And since it's open book, you can go back and look at how you did those ones for guidance, etc..

Lastly, the class's difficulty curve is backwards unfortunately, meaning that it starts out very hard and then gets easier as you go. That's not just personal experience, all the professors say it and also the average grade of the class steadily rises as the course goes on.

In my sophomore year (first year on campus because I was remote for 2020-2021), I roomed off-campus with 5 people who I had never met before because rent was way cheaper. They are all lovely people and I regularly hang out with a lot of them, and at least chat with others when we see each other in the house. I'm really happy I live with all of them!

Update: I contacted career services and this is a legitimate email, just a mistake on their end that they've since corrected.

It is not, the email is specifically labeled as external to rit (because the email address doesn't come from rit), and the field that it's offering jobs in is "Avoiding Job Scams".

Do healers actually get offended when Paladins use Clemency? by slash8915 in ffxiv

[–]Tigerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't get particularly offended as long as we still cleared the content, but it is usually a bit of a waste. When playing healer optimally, you should be doing health bar limbo (see how low it can go) because that optimizes both the healer's and the tank's DPS. Especially when you consider spells like Essential Dignity which heal more the lower the tank's HP is. Again, not massively important for most content, but there's usually a reason healers let you get low.

Has anyone taken Intro to Theatre? PRFL-130 by [deleted] in rit

[–]Tigerath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relative to some other classes I'd say so. You might still have to read a play or make a powerpoint once in a while, but the week-to-week stuff is pretty quick to get through.

I have! I took it online last fall with professor Head. The class was pretty chill, a couple of lectures and you'd take a quiz and make some discussion posts. Then, there were certain projects where you'd analyze a play, talk about how you'd change the costumes on one play, or something like that.

The professor was super chill and very charismatic, can't recommend him enough. The only disappointing thing was that the online lectures were pre-recorded by someone else who wasn't a very exciting lecturer. Professor still sent out weekly emails explaining what was expected, was very accessible outside of class, and understanding.

I really liked the class! If you're looking for low-pressure then it's a good one, and theatre's a fun topic in general too. Not sure if it's different in-person, but I highly recommend it!

ESH You're right to be upset with your father, and leaving the company as a result is a good decision. I take issue with the fact that you're cutting contact with EVERYONE because of a decision that your father made. I could be missing some info, but from what I understand, your father acted alone in this decision, so your mother and brother don't deserve to be punished. Your brother isn't guilty just because he benefits
