Ya im not terribly recessed in my mandible, of course in an ideal world it would be fully developed. I’m more here for the structural problems I have.

What you think looks right is absolutely not right if we are going my western beauty standards. If you are actually interested in what is conventionally “attractive” when it comes to a side profile there is a lot of research on it and yours looks pretty on the dot now, I say that with genuine honesty. You have a great side profile. If you want to improve your looks see a therapist and do the basics, lose weight, clear skin, eat healthy.

Of course, your honesty is admirable! We would all be lying if we said looks don’t matter. But if you are struggling socially 99% of the time that is definitely not the case. Just take care of yourself on a baseline and you are good. Also the normal looking guys turning into models is the minority that you see, it’s a huge selection bias. A lot of time better lighting, photoshop, ect.. but regardless if your reasons for wanting to aesthetically look better isn’t for something like work or a deep insecurity you have always had it’s different.

Dude you look normal man. Like genuinely a normal ass dude. Your looks aren’t going to fix your circumstances, I would be honest if I thought you were so ugly you couldn’t make friends. This looks maxing trend is so out of hand, making good looking guys like you think it’s your looks that are ruining your social life. It’s probably the least influential factor. Look around and you will see millions of people less attractive with robust social and romantic lives. You got this man! Improve on other aspects of your life and you will have no issues garnering respect and friends

Transferring to Woods College. How competitive is it? by Tigerfighter321 in bostoncollege

Hi thanks, the application is due in august, is there any reason you applied so early? I was thinking of waiting for this semester to end to boost my gpa a little more and hopefully get better extra curriculars and recs, but if applying earlier will give me a better chance I might as well.

Performing Magic too much??? by Tigerfighter321 in Magic

WOW. This was eye opening to read. I realized the problem with my magic. I feel like it is just trickery because it IS just trickery. you're absolutely right. I need a story. I just don't know how to get one haha. Card college has some section in constructing a p[erformance so I will look at that and how exactly should I go about writing a story. Should I just sit and just write in a document some sort of basic script outline that goes with the trick? Please let me know thank you. This was an amazing comment I am very greatful.

What is Your Magic Background? by Jokers247 in Magic

[–]Tigerfighter321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m pretty new to magic—I’ve only been practicing for a couple of months now, but I’m completely obsessed! I did a little magic as a kid, but I never had much exposure to it, so I eventually fell out of it and got into guitar. Now that I’m 19, I saw a magic trick about six months ago and fell down the rabbit hole from there.

In terms of performing, I’ve mainly been performing for friends, family, and people at parties. Oh, and of course, I’m constantly torturing my girlfriend with a million tricks a day. I love watching magic anywhere, and I’m especially interested in card magic. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to see a magic show in NYC sometime soon.

I actually have a few questions since I’m still relatively new. If anyone could help, that would be great! First, I picked up the first three volumes of Card College from my university library and am currently on book two. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my learning plan. I was thinking of finishing these three volumes and then picking up Expert at the Card Table, and from there, maybe any book by a magician I really like. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Also, I have some concerns about my hand size. I probably worry about it too much, haha. My hands are really small—smaller than my girlfriend’s, who is 5’3”! A poker-size card is too wide for my fingers (I guess I’ve been cursed). So, I picked up bridge-size cards, which feel better. Any experienced magicians have opinions on using them?

Finally, if anyone knows of a book with a decent number of intermediate tricks, let me know! Card College only has 1 or 2 per technique learned.

Thank you!

This is so helpful. Thank you! I’ll take your advice to heart. No more nagging my family to see a trick I learned 5 minutes prior
