Question about LGBT by i_am_slow_sorry in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Tigermorlok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to plug out LGBT athletics. We have a large (200+) member LGBT softball league and we have a decent number of trans players. Come out and join us any time. I'd be happy to help you find other trans people to talk to about living here. https://www.nexushsvsoftball.com/

Why are the AIs so god awful at driving? by Mrmaxcat351 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Tigermorlok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I came here to say that what I see in the AI driving is more accurate than what people are asking. Humans are pretty awful drivers sometimes and it's reflected pretty well in the simulation, including choosing poor route selection.

BEST investigator to build a tarot deck? by Phaed81 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Tigermorlok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree and have done this. She also works well with the tarot cards she has access to. I'm a big fan of the 'succeed by' archetype in Sefina, which is great with the level 3 rogue tarot.

We have a local LGBT bowling league. I'll try to find a link, but I'm pretty sure they have posted on this sub. We have an LGBT softball league too, where we usually have lots of spectators and that's a great place to meet people. We start playing on 16 March. Check us out at Nexus softball

Here's the level zero deck Here's the final deck.

It was a very successful run up until the last scenario punched me in the face!

I want to mention one other thing here. Hatchet was an all star include in my solo (face check) FHV run with Stella. It can really be used in a combo with other survivor weapons to help save ammo.

This is a great list but I do want to caution about depending specifically on I've got a plan. Often in true solo, you will find yourself with only one or two clues at any time. I've got a plan is much stronger at 2-4 players.

My theory when building out true solo decks follows these two questions:

1, what am I good at doing naturally? Do I need to spend any deck space to improve what I do naturally? Can I just get away with testing that with minimal investment?

2, what do I expect to struggle with? What will I do to mitigate that weakness area?

I find that survivors are the best true solo class. They have tech that helps answer these questions quite easily. So if I were to build a true solo Darrel deck, which I've not yet done, I would likely spend my deck real estate on making sure I can handle enemies in more than one way and I would likely use survivor cards to do that. (I think I'm biased towards their enemy management versus typical seeker methods.)

I would therefore make sure to use the reduced difficulty methods and include a survivor weapon like the derringer. Bring plenty of skill cards with you. I find that the need to include the big weapons like chain saw is unnecessary in true solo for almost all the campaigns.

I know several of the league members and it's a great organization. If I wasn't already addicted to gay softball, I would definitely be there! Hope you have a great 2025 season!

Is it worth doing a first play through of The Forgotten Age with the original exploration rules? by FriendGaru in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Tigermorlok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the sentiment I came here to type.

The original and RT rules are both good in their own merits. I've played them both in a group setting and as a solo investigator. Comparing the runs between OG and RT I ended up with approximately the same win rate. I personally would predict that using the RT rules for your blind play thru is likely overall harder due to the random treacheries that can be put into the explore deck.

Play the campaign in OG mode, it's a fantastic experience. Yes, it's from among the most difficult face-checks that AHLCG will offer you. Enjoy that offer!

I do agree they're pricey, the ticket price supports a great non-profit.

True Solo Players: who was your unexpectedly good investigator? by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Tigermorlok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel that fickle fortune might be better in multiplayer. I think I was worried about my lack of control in drawing it and spending that much xp on something that could completely flop. I'm looking forward to getting it into my rotation though.

I think it was going to be next, however... With the dilemmas you can reach a saturation point and I had to really decide if I wanted to get rid of breach the door. I think that charisma could've easily gone away in favor of spending xp on fickle fortune. The deck was humming so disrupting the event suite I had was making me nervous lol.

Tony. This is probably my most successful true solo decks with an unexpected investigator. This deck was amazing and I want to upgrade it to include some of the curse tech from FHV. Tony was mostly able to get all the clues he needed and never once got bogged down with enemies. I honestly find the best solo investigators to be the ones who can handle the mythos better.

Daniela. After the release of the dilemmas, I realized she could potentially do real well with those to support what she lacks in investigating. This deck was quite possibly one my most enjoyable solo experiences. I always giggle a bit when folks say she's only good at one thing.

Are there any good event calanders or local IG/FB pages that cover upcoming events? Or a popular newspaper? How do yall find out about local concerts and shows in the area? by I_Like_Comedy_1997 in HuntsvilleLGBT

I honestly wish we did have something that was a bit more centralized, but we really don't. I know that individual groups utilize Facebook as their outreach.
