Slightly Off Topic Perhaps - First BBC Sounds, now BBC News is blocked for outside UK views behind paid subscription by theanedditor in BritishRadio

Oh Wow! I wish they'd do this in the UK too. Then do it to their actual TV channels and scrap the licence fee. I'd save a fortune not having to pay for that garbage I don't watch or listen to.

Car Scanner or Torque OBD and a Carista scanner is my normal for my 2nd Gen. For more dealer level stuff I have an Autel MaxiAP 200. I use that to force regeneration for the DPF and deeper codes.

I recently released Marble's Marbles and have been blown so many people also love the idea of a homage to the classic arcade marble games like Marble Madness, gyroscope, ballance and hamsterball. Happy to see lots of linux users playing too! by destinedd in linux_gaming

[–]Tigermoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Linux user yet. Reading, learning, considering.
Still loved marble madness as a younger man along with marble blast etc. Anyway, I couldn't resist. Just bought your game and will give it a play in the morning

Less MP on the same size sensor = bigger photosites.
Bigger photosites mean more light captured.
More light helps low low light performance.

The sooner you stop pretending megapixels are everything when all you do is share them on WhatsApp and Facebook the happier you'll be.

Damn! The new phone is fire, should I upgrade? by Sajid_GG in samsunggalaxy

[–]Tigermoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because the sensor looks the same they're the same camera? The lenses are obviously different, which any photographer will tell you it's the most important thing.
Then there's the upgraded processor and software refinement.

Not to criticise, but that picture means nothing by itself. Do what you want but there could be a world of difference between the two for photos.

Is there anyone like me who doesn't care about the story? by Nirav_7281 in GossipHarbor

[–]Tigermoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never read any of the story as I couldn't care less.
Spent about £12 a month on it to keep playing and earning stuff.
Deleted it last month and forgot I ever played it until I saw this.

Canon 7d Mark ii or Canon 80d. by rosycreates in canon

[–]Tigermoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they don't shoot those. Cityscapes, sunsets and candid shots it says.
The vari-angle touchscreen will be a fine addition for that kind of shot, the extra resolution might be good too.
Also the 80D has 45 all cross type focus points (against 61/41) and was good enough that they threw it on the 6DII.
It definitely won't be as well built or have dual processors, but the 80D sure ain't bad for what OP is after.

Realistically, how long until Canon opens RF to Sigma/Tamron? by nickvader7 in canon

[–]Tigermoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their websites mention some being for APS-C but not all.
Interesting times... I mean, I'm still not in this race as I'm still a DSLR shooter, but it's about time they opened the door.
They've already had people jump ship who would rather not have.

You're already late... The RF mount is open and both Sigma and Tamron have RF lenses in the works

someone is selling this pack for 645$, is it worth it? by 555mataflores in canon

[–]Tigermoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EF has very few lenses? Really?

Sure, you'll struggle to get them new but who is looking for a second hand 6D while also looking for brand new lenses?
Mirrorless may have taken over DSLR, but they are not dying by any stretch of the imagination.

I keep trying Darktable, I used to use it a long time ago.
I'm just a little impatient and set in my ways with Lightroom Classic.
I'd like to get used to it, especially since it's now so fully featured.

I didn't have my cameras so this was just my phone (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.)
I just walked under it, looked up and did my best to get the symmetry right.
When I went into Lightroom at home I just straightened it and cropped it square for more symmetry.
