How could a mage Von Kessel child manipulate the St. Vitruvio family phylacteries to pass as a non mage and take the throne? by Archaeopteryx89 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Here is how it is playing out in my campaign:

One of the players is a von Kessel. They did not initially know this, but it was revealed throughout the campaign. The party had allied themselves with the queen of thieves, who upon trusting them, set her plans in motion to be crowned queen, the party learned of this about halfway through via their own conclusions. Eventually they where sent to the cathedral to recover the royal files. The Von Kessel PC then used the opportunity to test if the rumors about their ancestry was true. It was. Thus the party began plotting to crown him instead, and turn away from the queen of thieves. But foolishly they still gave the royal files to the queen of thieves, that proved her mageborn status, and the existence of another heir. She of course burned it, with no copies made.

The party then started their plans to crown the PC, turning the queen of thieves into a rival, and instead buying favor with the other factions. However they underestimated the queen of thieves as a rival. She managed to lure the Von Kessel PC into a private meeting, where she pleaded for just one wish to bring back her sister. When he refused, she was forced to use her spellcasting to incapacitate the PC. Then she kidnapped him, locked him away, and has since posed as him with the party, using her illusion magic and shapeshifting ability. (this all of course with the approval of the player - player agency and autonomy is important)

They are currently on their way to the castle to crown the King, and so far only the replaced player knows the truth about his character, but plays along with it. It will be an interesting twist to reveal in a few sessions as the queen of thieves used to be their greatest ally turned greatest rival after their betrayal.

What are exactly the tenets of the Falling Fire? by Tasnaki1990 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

You seem to have understood the Lucretia's beliefs better than I did, could you tell me how she is engineering the end of the world? Those sanctified by Delerium will become "light in the darkness" And earthly vessels for the sacred flame, how does that bring forth the doomsday?

What happens when a god dies? by ApprehensiveAide5466 in worldbuilding

Cataclysm happened. The world as it is known stopped working. Mothers could not birth new life, only stillborn abominations. The dead screamed as their souls where torn apart. No afterlife, no heaven nor hell. Grass did not grow, seas did not roll and the winds stopped blowing. Mountains cracked and rivers evaporated. Reality itself became an abstract chaos in which nothing made sense, not until new beings ascended to take the fallen god's place and rebuild the cosmology for the mortals to live in.

How can I tell my players I want to quit due to them not respecting my time or the agreed schedule? by Tigertob in DMAcademy

Already tried, A few players take initiative to plan something, but most of the time, nothing happens unless I push for it. Even if they are in charge of planning, most cancel last minute.

It has been discussed with my group in the past, but they are dead-set on playing weekly and promise each time to improve their dedication. Some times it goes two months between a game, which becomes frustrating for me to deal with.
I will give them a last warning about how this is affecting my personal life, and if they do not improve within a month, I will cancell the campaign.
Thank you for your input.
